Good morning Fullerton Families!

The fun continues at Fullerton! We're beginning sales of Homecoming Tickets, league play is beginning for our sports teams, our ASB participated in an all-district leadership workshop, and we ended the week with an amazing All District Band Showcase. It takes a village to support our students and keep them engaged! Thank you to everyone who is coming out to our events to support our students! There's more to come!

District Band Showcase

All of our FJUHSD District Marching Bands participated in a showcase this Saturday! It was the best show! Our students helped support each other as they performed and our families and friends were there to cheer them on! So proud of all of our students!

ASB District Symposium

Our students had a great time learning about leadership Friday along with all of our district ASB groups!

Last week initiated National Hispanic Heritage Month to celebrate the rich contributions and cultures of Hispanic people in the U.S.  Close to 20% of the U.S. and more than 60% of our very own FUHS studnets identify as Hispanic or Latino.  National Hispanic Heritage Month begins mid-month in honor it being Independence Day for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Mexico.

Boys Water Polo

Boys varsity came out strong in the Jaguar Classic Varsity tournament taking first place!  On Monday we played a head-to-head game with Sage Hill and in a very physical game lost 10-12. With good resolve, we went into our first league match against Sunny Hills taking the victory 17-9.

Cross Country

The cross country team has spent the week using the winning energy from Woodbridge Invitational last week to fuel their training. Morgan McAndrew broke her own school record by running 18:01 for 3 miles at Woodbridge while Ansal Esquivias (20:26) and Reagan Glidewell (20:43) both ran huge lifetime bests as well. The girls also had a pack of 6 between 22:30 - 24:00 which included 5 freshmen. In the varsity boys race, Fullerton was led by junior Alejandro Hernandez (15:55) and senior Nathan Limon (15:56) which marked the first time Fullerton had two boys under 16:00 in the same race since 2014. Senior Troy Fernandez (16:25), sophomore Jack Golla (17:02), senior Daniel Frausto (17:11), and sophomore Ryan Lietner (17:15) all ran lifetime bests in the varsity race as well.

Girls Volleyball

Girls varsity got their much-needed first league win against Buena park to go 1-1 of the week. We are now 1-3, still in the hunt for the playoffs. Kaylee Koerth and Zoe Kamizolas are leading the team in kills, with Havanna Pennington leading in assists. Lauren Hansens leads in blocks, while Noah Chung leads the defense in digs. Both our JV and Frosh teams went 2-0 for the week. Next up will be Tuesday against our crosstown rival Troy. Come out and support the girls and let's red out the gym that night.
