Hello Fullerton Families!

We had Back to School Night this week and we had a lot of fun seeing our community come together. Thank you to all of the parents that joined us. Working together as a team to support our students is the best thing we can do for them.  We also had our first Club Rush of the year and our students have many more opportunities to be engaged and have fun! I hope that you are having a restful three-day weekend! See you Tuesday!

Football

Two weeks ago the game was against Whittier High school (1-0) who beat league opponent Sonora 15-13. The tribe bounced back from its previous loss and beat Whittier 39-7. Top performer Deshawn Cobbs rushed for 211 yards on 36 carries with 5 touchdowns. We also had great efforts by QB Ryan Reager who threw for 151 yards commanding the tribe down the field. Aidan Zavala had 6 receptions for 124 yards averaging 20.7 yards a reception. On defense, we held them to 7 points. Noah Hernandez(2sacks), Joel Clemente(Freshman), and Issac Galvez each had a sack with Dallas Padron intercepting the ball. The tribe put together a full game where each side's offense and defensive line performed well. Last Friday night, we went up against Canyon High School and after a hard-fought battle unfortunately lost. We will play again this coming Friday against Pioneer High School @ Santa Fe HS.

Cheer & Song

Last week Cheer and Song supported our varsity football players in their win against Whittier High School. Over the weekend our team held a Youth Cheer and Song Clinic with kids as young as 5 years old.

Cross Country

The boys & girls teams wrapped up their summer mileage count with a couple of runners logging over 600 miles for the summer. Nathan Limon eclipsed the 700-mile mark. The team will race at the Fastback Shootout Invitational in Walnut on Saturday morning. On Wednesday, September 7th, both teams will open league competition at Clark Park.

Boys Water Polo

This week in water polo we played Segerstrom high school winning on Jv and Varsity. Our Varsity coming out the gate strong, won 18-9. Next week we will play three of our hardest games of the season; Glendale, Eldorado and Servite.

Girls Golf

This week the girls' golf team had our match against Rosary and our players did great and gained some valuable experience. In the upcoming week, we will be fine-tuning our skills on the course to further hone our skills for future matches.

Girls Tennis

Girls Tennis had one match this week against Western HS. Both varsity and JV dominated winning 18-0 both. Our varsity singles (Abigail Kelly, Christina Sfatcu and Rebecca Balarie) completely dominated winning all their matches with 6-0 across the board. Next match is next Wednesday against La Quinta HS.
