Boys Soccer:

Boy’s Soccer is battling in a tough League for first place. Friday they play Sunny Hills to avenge their League's only loss 1-0. The team has 13 wins, 2 losses and 2 ties while scoring 50 goals and only giving up 9 with 10 shutouts. Everyone on the team has made a unique contribution to the team’s success and are looking forward to the last 5 games. Playing in the cold rain against tough competition while battling nagging injuries has only toughened the team’s resolve to win. All while our JV is in first place with a record of 4-0-1 all while giving up the fewest goals in League. Our Frosh Soph is following the tradition by holding down second place in League.

Girls Soccer:

Girl’s soccer has played through a lot of adversity this week. Starting with Troy, then Sonora at La Habra in the pouring rain finishing up with a wet Sunny Hills. All tough, cold wet losses, but the team is showing improvement every game. They are the standard for the future with hard work and determination. The raining tough conditions have brought out the best in them and shown their tough character with a lot of positive things in the future. Our JV and Frosh-Soph Girl’s have been playing tough and the future is looking bright.

Boys Basketball:

Boys Basketball lost their last two league games on buzzer beaters. They lost on Friday 1/13 to Buena Park in overtime 52-49. Saint Martinez and Dre Welch each had 11 points to lead Fullerton. On Tuesday 1/17 they lost to Troy on a shot as the clock expired 46-44. Josiah Reed led all scores with 16 and Christian Hubbard added 11 points. Fullerton looks to get on track in the second round of league play Friday 1/20 at home against Sunny Hills. The Lancers beat the tribe by 2 points in their first meeting at Sunny Hills but this Friday, we stepped it up and beat the Lancers 60-57! It was an intense game but the Tribe pulled through. Way to go boys!

Wrestling:

Last weekend the boys varsity traveled to Western HS for an individual tournament. We put on a great performance, coming out with an 8th place finish as a team. Leading the way were Austin Hulsizer - 1st, Emmanuel Hernandez - 3rd, Landon MacGill - 5th, Emilio Castaneda - 5th, DJ Cobbs - 5th, and Henry Pillon - 7th.

On Wednesday the program traveled to Buena Park for their last away league dual. Unfortunately, BP did not have a boys JV team, so we won by forfeit, and improved to 1-3 on the season. The girls got the night started with an impressive 52-18 win. They were led by Chloe Ortiz getting a 1st period pin. They improved to 3-1. The boys finished the night with a dominant win, 78-6. They were led by Dylan Cobb, Emmanuel Hernandez, Francisco Rincon, and Henry Pillon, all getting their wins by pin. They improved to 2-2.

This weekend is the last regular season tournaments, with Frosh/Soph traveling to Western HS, and the Boys Varsity going to Laguna Hills HS for individual tournaments. On Tuesday, 1/24, we finish off league play with a dual against Troy HS at HOME for SENIOR NIGHT!
