With 3 games scheduled this week. The boys are 1-1 with a win over Esperanza and a tough loss to Ocean View on a crazy windy day. We wrap up our 3rd game Saturday at Brea 10:00am.
Our Fullerton baseball team was also ranked 24th in Orange County this week.
Next week we go on the road to Arizona to compete in the Bob Hope Invitational.

After coming back from the Spring Break tournament, our baseball team opened Freeway League play with Troy High School and our varsity team pulled out two wins with scores of 4-0 and 8-1. Our match-ups with Troy will conclude Friday night at Angels Stadium for a non-league match in the Halo Classic. A big thank you to the Los Angeles Angels for holding the Halo Classic and giving local schools the opportunity to play on an MLB field.
In the 2024 Halo Classic on Friday, March 29th, the TRIBE beat Troy 12-2. It was a great outing for Fullerton and the Angels facility staff stated that Fullerton represented more fans than other schools in the Halo Classic. FUHS brought so many fans that the Angels had to open another seating section just for the TRIBE. Thank you everyone for making it to the game. Also another big thank you to Mr. Ma, Mrs. Kerr and ASB for providing hotdogs and chips for our student body at the Halo Classic Tailgate Party. A great day for FUHS.

In addition to baseball news, we’d like to share our upgrades to our baseball field and the beautification. Thank you to FUHS Administration and FJUHSD for providing the funding to our baseball field. Please notice the recognition of our four alumni that have thrown NO-Hitters in Major League Baseball. We hope everyone can make it to a game to see the field and our boys play a game. | |
Softball
During spring break our Softball program is still working and got the win against Villa Park, 11-0. On Friday, our girls beat El Rancho 12-0. Malaya Majam-Finch was dynamite on Wednesday, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit over five innings pitched. As if that that’s not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with less than one walks allowed. This season, Majam-Finch has been strong no matter where she plays. On the mound, she has an ERA of 1.98 over 27.4 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat she has slashed 0.560/0.593/0.960 for 16 RBI.
Returning from Spring Break, our Softball Team opened Freeway League play with Sunny Hills and Troy H.S. The TRIBE pulled out a 1-0 victory over a very tough Sunny Hills team and then followed up with a 9-1 victory over Troy. The team will keep playing this week with games in the Michelle Carew Tournament at Canyon H.S. The TRIBE lost its first game in the tournament to Poway 6-4, but bounced back with a victory over Canyon View 3-2. The girls keep playing on Saturday with teams to be announced. Hopefully the rain won’t stop us from playing.
Tribe Softball continues league play next week at Sonora on 4/3, and a home game vs. La Habra on 4/5. Come out and support your Tribe!!!

Boys Volleyball
The boys had 1 game over spring break. Our varsity beat Diamond Ranch 3-1. Another game in which the boys started out slow, and lost the first set 25-27, but came back and won the next 3 sets rather easily. With one of our starting middles out, Cameron Hird had a block party in the middle. Our JV also won their game 2-1. Then this week, the boys swept Sonora 3-0 on Monday and continued that same momentum into Thursday, when they also swept La Habra 3-0. The boys are now in first place with a 4-0 League record, and 15-7 overall, and ranked 4th in the division this week. The boys are running like a well-oiled machine at this point of the season and everyone is contributing. Next week, we are taking on Buena Park on Tuesday and Troy on Thursday. Both games are here at home. Go Tribe!

Tennis
Boys Varsity had a great week, beating Sonora 18-0 on Tuesday and then La Habra 17-1 on Thursday. We had fantastic play from all our players. The singles continue to dominate the season, convincingly winning all their sets. Timothy Chung, Ben Villalobos, and Diego Gomez won all their sets either 6-0 or 6-1. The doubles teams have improved but still have room for improvement.
Next week, we face Buena Park and Troy.

Boys Golf
Varsity had a rough start to the regular season playing two great golf teams back to back. They barely lost to Troy by 2 strokes 182 to 184 Sangat and Pascal both shot 1 over and then lost to Sunny Hills. Varsity is 6-4 at the Halfway point. They look forward to being right back next week playing Sonora and La Habra.
