Week 3

We Are The Heart of Fullerton! ❤️

Good Evening Fullerton Families,

We've continued to have a great week at FUHS! We had our Back to School Night Thursday night and it was a great success! Thank you to all of our parents and family members who came out to support your student. It was a great time to meet their teachers and experience their daily walks through our campus! We have an amazing staff who are here to support as much as we can.

I hope you all have a great 3-day weekend!

Football:

Friday Night Lights did not disappoint! Fullerton Football started off our 1st home game with a bang by shutting down Whittier HS with a 28-0 WIN! We were excited to have kids from the community in attendance for Middle School Night, in which they ran a football drill obstacle course during halftime. Our Players of the week against Whittier are David Williams (Defense), DeShawn Cobbs (Offense), Evan Tellez-Soria (Special Teams), and Anthony Minero (Lineman). We travel to take on Canyon HS on September 1st. Game starts at 7pm, we hope to see you all there!

Cheer and Song:

All Cheer and Song programs had such a great time with our buddies during our annual cheer and song clinic on Friday! Our tiny tribe members participated with us during the first half while we cheered on our Tribe football team and performed with us at halftime! Congratulations to our Varsity football team on a great win over Whittier! We missed being under the lights on Fridays and look forward to more games!

Competition Song team tryouts are coming up! Please use the link in our Instagram bio to sign up before September 5th! @FUHS.Cheer.Song.Stunt . This tryout is open to ALL FUHS students! We cannot wait to see all who participate!

Cross Country:

The boys and girls kick off the official season Saturday, September 2nd at the Great Cow Invitational! The meet is hosted by Cerritos High School but the races will take place on the campus of John Glenn High School. Many of the student-athletes have logged hundreds of miles over the summer in preparation for another historical season. The races begin at 8am with the freshman boys and conclude with the junior varsity girls at 11:30am. Live results can be found at finishedresults.com. We hope you join us this season as the boys  put themselves in position to defend the 2022 freeway league title and the girls pursue their first league title in school in history!

Girls Volleyball:

The girls had 2 games this week. We went to Westminster HS on Monday and came back with big wins for all 3 levels. On Wednesday, our varsity girls and JV lost some tough ones to Brea Olinda, while our Frosh continues to roll with a big win. Great news is, most of our varsity girls who have been out with injuries will be cleared to start playing next week, just in time to get ready for league play the following week.

Boys Water Polo:

JV started off the week with a win against Sonora 19-8. Then Thursday we made the drive out to Rancho Cucamonga for a very hard-fought match where our boys lost by four points. With a score of 11-7, we learned a lot about our team and how to improve for our next game against Portola.

Christian Lawson and Maurice Huy with 1 goal each.

Justin Pearson had 2 goals.

Josh Reed with 3 goals.

Girls Golf:

The girls had an amazing week finishing the week with a win Rosary by 12. Freshman Olivia Woo continues to surprise everyone being medalist again this week  They have the next week to prepare for league on 9/12 against Troy.
