October is almost over we've had a great semester so far! Our Fall sports teams are winding down and winter teams are revving up for more exciting Fullerton competitions! There is a lot of activity on the FUHS Campus. I hope that you are making it out to see our students getting the opportunity to play and perform for our school community. Athletics Review Oct. 18th - 22nd

Boys Water Polo: Boys Varsity won its first game in the carousel against Buena Park and are moving on to the next game vs. Sonora on Tuesday at the Troy pool. Game starts at 5pm. Our JV team beat Sunny hills 10-2 and our Frosh/Soph won 8-4. Our Varsity team also took

Girls Tennis: Girls Varsity and JV tennis lost to Troy and Sunny Hills and is currently 3rd place in league. League finals start Wednesday at Sunny Hills at 11 am.

Girls Volleyball applied for an at-large bid for the play-offs, but wasn’t granted a play-off berth. The girls finished with an overall record of 14-12.

Cross Country is practicing for the league finals coming up on Wednesday, November 3rd at Craig Regional Park at 1pm.

Girls Golf sent two girls to league finals, but didn’t make it to the final round. The girls team was 2-8 in league.

Football: Football lost to Troy this week and are now focussing on the final game of the year vs. Sunny Hills. It will be Senior Night and we will be honoring our seniors in Football, Cheer, Song, Band, and JROTC.

Softball tryouts are on Nov. 5th & 6th on the utility field. November 5th tryouts are from 3:15pm to 5:15 pm. On November 6th tryouts will be from 9am to 11am. Athletes in other sports only need to attend the Nov. 6th tryout. All athletes must be cleared before participating in any practice. See Coach Olivas in the A.D. office during 6th period or after school.

Superintendent Memo Regarding Latest COVID Information from the CA Governor

COVID Entrance Procedures

Safety Procedures attending school during the COVID-19 pandemic.

All students and staff will complete a Qualtrics COVID Safety Survey each morning (the survey is sent to Student's school email).
Students will be directed to the central building breezeway as they enter campus where they will show their green checkmark from the completed survey permitting them to be on campus.
Students will walk through the thermal-imaging temperature cameras in the breezeway as they show their green Qualtrics survey checkmarks.
Face coverings (masks) are required inside and are optional while outside. Please ensure that your students bring a mask everyday.

If you have received a COVID 19 test, do not attend school until you receive the results of that test and then only if you are negative for COVID 19. Additionally, if you have been exposed to a person who has recently tested positive for COVID-19 please stay home and contact the school attendance office.

In accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), CA Dept. of Public Health (CDPH), and Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA), we ask that you complete the Qualtrics survey each morning prior to arriving on campus. However, please do not attend school if you have experienced any COVID-related symptoms:

Flu-like symptoms such as fever of 100.4 or greater
Chills
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or stuffy nose that is not associated with a pre-existing condition or other chronic health condition.

If you have received a COVID 19 test, do not attend school until you receive the results of that test and then only if you are negative for COVID 19.

Further, following the recommendations issued by the CDC, the CDPH has issued guidance in support of full in-person instruction and to as much instructional time as possible. A link to that guidance is included at the bottom of this communication.

Please note that masks will be required by all staff and students while indoors regardless of vaccinated status. As an extra precaution, FJUHSD is committed to continuing the enhanced cleaning procedures established to ensure that our schools are clean, sanitized, and safe. Further, temperatures will continue to be taken each morning.
