Hello Fullerton Families!

We made it to our first long break since August! It is truly a time to be grateful for all that we have. I am grateful for my family and for this great school community which is supportive and always has the best interest of kids in mind. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving Break!

Cross Country Season not done yet!

The Boys Cross Country team finished their season last Saturday at the CIF Preliminaries at the Mt. Sac Cross Country Course. The team was competing in the meet for the first time since 2013 in hope of qualifying for the CIF Championships. The boys set a goal to finish as a top 4 team in their heat but finished 6th in dry conditions. The 6th place finish is the highest placing by a Fullerton boys team and sets the bar high for next year's team. Junior Alejandro Hernandez led the boys with his 11th place individual finish in 16:20. Nathan Limon (17:14, 28th), Troy Fernandez (17:25, 33rd), Jack Golla (17:37, 37th), Ryan Leitner (17:49, 41st), Daniel Frausto (18:45, 57th), and Nathan Karcher (18:55, 63rd) rounded out the top 7 for the team. The team can hang their heads high after the 2022 season having won the Freeway League title on all three levels! Well done boys!

The girls had an equally exciting race and did not disappoint! Morgan McAndrew came in third place with a time of 19:28 and qualified to move on individually. Ansal Esquivias (21:16) and Reagan Glidewell (21:38) were our second and third runners followed by Sofia Tabbal (22:32), Melina Sibal (22:59), Chistina Hernandez (25:20), and Miley Basas (25:29). The girls raced with determination and began passing the competition in the last mile. We anxiously waited while the top 5 runners from every team were scored and results showed that Fullerton had tied for 4th place, a qualifying spot, with Agoura Hills with 112 points. When 6th place runners were considered to break the tie, Agoura Hills finished 4th and Fullerton moved to 5th. This race surpassed expectations and showcased the hard work of our runners. We hope to continue working throughout track season and summer to be even more prepared come next season. Despite not qualifying as a team, the season is not yet over! Morgan McAndrew has moved on to race on Saturday, 11/19 at Mt. SAC with a shot at going to state!

Girls Tennis still going!

Our Girls Doubles Tennis Team will be heading into the first round of CIF Playoffs this Monday, November 21st at Whittier Narrows Tennis Center in South El Monte. Matches start around 8 a.m. Good luck to sisters Lillian Kelly (Class of 2023) and Abigail Kelly (Class of 2025). Good Luck Girls!

Winter Season

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team kicked off their season by co-hosting Rumble For Rosecrans Ave., one of the premier pre-season tournaments in Orange County. The tournament has brought some of the top teams in southern California to Fullerton High School. The tribe is off to a rough start going 0-3, losing 3 games by very slim margins against top level competition. They look to get back to their winning ways tonight at 6pm at FUHS. They are also wrapping up the free throw-a-thon and will share their fundraising and shooting accomplishments soon. We are still accepting donations, see the graphic below if you would like to support our program.

Girls Basketball

Girls basketball started off the season with a great team win against Rancho Alamitos on Monday. Lady Tribe unfortunately lost a nail biter to La Mirada 37-35 in their home opener Thursday night. They look to end the week on a high note as they travel to play Norte Vista Friday night at 6:00pm. Next week they will play Calvary Chapel Tuesday at 5:00pm as their last game before they prepare to host the Vernie Ford Classic Tournament the following week.

Wrestling

The JV boys had a great start for the season, they traveled to Cerritos HS for their duel tournament. They were able to knock off Cerritos HS 45-25, then Santa Fe HS 39-37 before falling in a hard-fought duel vs. Milikan. Emilio Castaneda and Landon MacGill led the way, going 3-0. Other undefeated wrestlers were Christain Godinez, 2-0, Edric Jimeno, 2-0, and Jaden Pulsifer, 1-0. On Saturday, Varsity Boys travel to S. Torrance HS and the Girls travel to Capo Valley HS for their individual tournaments.

Boys’ Soccer

Boys’ soccer had a great week of practice. Our preparation included conditioning.

game tactics and set plays. We are two weeks away from our first game.

Girls’ Soccer

All 3 teams had an excellent week of energized training. We are looking forward to watching as a team the kickoff of World Cup soccer and supporting our favorite teams.
