Semester 2, Week 19

We Are The Heart of Fullerton! ❤️

Countdown to the End of the School Year

Dear Fullerton Families,

As we approach the end of another school year, it's time to say goodbye to our incredible class of 2024. Your hard work, resilience, and achievements have been truly inspiring. We are so proud of everything you have accomplished, and we look forward to celebrating with you at Graduation next week. You have left a lasting legacy at Fullerton Union High School, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

For our 9th-11th graders, it's time to gear up for final exams next week. This is a crucial time to review, study, and prepare to finish the year strong. Please remember that we will be on a modified schedule to accommodate the exams, so plan accordingly. It's hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by, and your efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Parents, thank you for your unwavering support throughout this year. Your involvement and encouragement have been key to our students' success. We have just one more week to go, and your continued support will help our students cross the finish line successfully.

As we head into this final stretch, I hope everyone takes some time to enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend. It's a time to honor our soldiers and reflect on their sacrifices, while also finding moments to relax and recharge.

Thank you all for being a part of our Fullerton Union High School family. Let's make this last week of the school year a great one!

Celebrations

Commitment Week!

This week, we had the incredible honor of celebrating Commitment Week, a special time when our seniors officially signed on to their chosen colleges and universities! It was a joyous occasion filled with pride and excitement as we recognized the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of our amazing students.

We love celebrating our students and their decisions as they embark on this new adventure. Each commitment represents not only a milestone in their academic journeys but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter filled with opportunities and growth.

To all our seniors, we wish you the very best as you step into this next phase of your life. Your future is bright, and we are confident that you will continue to make us proud with all that you achieve.

Congratulations, Class of 2024!

BEAST wins at the CAPPIES

We are so excited to announce that BEAST Creative Arts Design Engineering students Isabella Curiel and Katie Hudson were awarded "Best Special Effects in a Play" for their work in the FUHS production of "A Monster Calls" at the Cappies. This is BEAST's second win in its two years collaboration with our Theatre Arts Department and is a great validation of the power of practical effects.

Activities

AP Human Geography Community Service

On Saturday May 18, 12 students and Mrs. Danica Perez, 2 volunteers from Friends of Coyote Hills, and 2 scientists came together to restore the native habitat in Tree Park. It was a true community effort!

Our students worked tirelessly removing invasive plants to allow native plant species to regrow in the area. After spending hours removing the invasive plants, we were treated to a presentation by Kristal Waltrous, a professor and entomologist at UC Irvine (and FUHS parent!) who does research on bees. The area in Tree Park where the students removed invasive plants is where Kristal has done research on bees, and she discussed this research with students. She then showed the group the ground nests of the Diadasia australis bees which feed on the nectar of the cactus in Tree Park. This community service event will have a lasting effect on the local ecosystem of tree park because not only will it allow the native cactus plants to grow and reestablish, but they will consequently provide more nectar to the native bees, helping their population flourish as well.
