Cheer & Song:

Our Cheer and Song team performed pre game at Tuesday’s Angel Game. It was a great final event and performance to end the school year!

We also wrapped up tryouts this week! Thank you to everyone who tried out. Results will be posted this weekend!

Our Song/Pom Team was awarded on Thursday, May 2nd, with a grant from The Women of Fullerton Club and Ocean's Subaru. We want to thank them tremendously for their generosity and cannot wait to start our 24/25 season.

Softball

Tribe Softball pulled off a dramatic come-from-behind victory on Thursday, defeating the Hart Indians 4-3 in eight innings. The game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth when junior Abby Lee delivered a clutch double, driving in the winning run!

Hart got on the board first in the top of the first, but Fullerton answered back immediately with a run of their own thanks to Lee's sacrifice fly. Both teams remained scoreless until the sixth inning with a leadoff single and aggressive base running from senior Sonora State commit Ava Pacquin. Fullerton rallied to tie the game again at 3-3 with a sacrifice fly by senior Fullerton College commit Zoey Bautista and another key double by Lee.

Taking the mound in relief in the fifth inning, senior pitcher and Tennessee State commit Tianna Salcido shut down Hart's offense, allowing only one hit over the final four innings to secure the win. Freshman Katelynn Mathews started the game strong for Fullerton, striking out six batters.

At the plate, Lee was a force, leading the Tribe with three RBIs and going 2-for-3. Senior George Washington University commit Emi Todoroki paced the team in hits, going 3-for-4, and sophomore Hayley Brock was superb with two hits of her own. Spectacular defensive plays were made by sophomore Melia Vera at short and Bautista at second.

This exciting win extends the Tribe's winning streak to an impressive 10 games! They'll face off against Woodbridge in the second round of CIF playoffs on Tuesday here at Fullerton at 3:15pm. Come out and support your Tribe!

Boys Tennis

Fullerton men's tennis won their first round CIF against La Quinta HS in a highly contested match, 9-9 (79-75).

Tim Chung was the MVP of the day, going a perfect 3 for 3. Ben Villalobos won 2 of 3, but could have won all 3 but lost his first set 5-7, but played hard nonetheless. Srinivas scored 1 point for the team. The first two rounds of the doubles side looked grim, going 0 and 6. The match came down to having to win 2 of 3 doubles sets in order to just tie the match. It was a long shot but the doubles pulled through. Allowing us to edge out the match by five games. Next up is the second round on Friday at home after winning the coin toss against Capistrano Valley..

Ben Villalobos 5-7, 6-1, 6-0

Tim Chung 6-1, 6-1, 6-0

Srinivas Krishnan 1-6, 1-6, 6-4

Bek/McWatters 3-6, 1-6, 6-4

Sprague/Esterson 2-6, 2-6, 7-6

Gomez/Park 3-6, 6-2, 6-7 (3‐7)
