College Application and Success Day (PSAT/ASVAB Day)
|
|
College and Career Readiness Day
On Wednesday, October 13th we held various activities for our seniors to get ready for their next steps after high school. We had various stations and workshops from College application support to college essay help. We also had a financial aid support room where we had volunteers helping with the FAFSA applications. Our 9th-11th grade students had the opportunity to take either the ASVAB, the PSAT, or the PSAT 8/9. Depending on what college or university our students decide to apply to, our goal is to get them ready and give them as much as we can to expand their choices. Thank you to Guidance Technician, Anali Conde, Assistant Principal Steve Garcia, and AVID Coordinator Pricilla Merritt-Bravo for leading the planning of this event and of course to all of our partners, especially our Amazing FUHS Staff!!

Alumni Wall of Fame 2021 Inductees
|
|
It is truly an honor for me to present our new 2021 Wall of Fame Inductees. Our process for induction consists of the following: first, of course, they have to be an alumnus, they had to be nominated, many times it’s done by a classmate, a family member, or a member of the community. The nominations are sent to our office. All nominee applications were reviewed by our FUHS Leadership Team, which includes our administration and all teacher leaders on campus. We look for an alumnus that has had a long-standing impact on our community, whether local or nationwide. We are looking for those that truly embody what it means to be a good citizen and also that is a good representation of the wonderful student body that has walked the hallways of this fine institution these last 128 years. This year we honor Class of 1961, Jim Campanis, Class of 1976, Bob Busser, and Class of 1982, Dr. Lawrence Stoffel. To read their bios, please read the amazing articles put together by our Tribe Tribune student staff!

|
Special recognition goes out to our Tribe Tribune staff and advisor, teacher, Ms. Kimberly Harris! The Los Angeles Press Club named the Tribe Tribune the BEST high school news website in Southern California at an awards ceremony at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday night! We couldn't be more proud of all of their hard work and accomplishments! We have the best here at FUHS!

COVID Entrance Procedures
|
Safety Procedures attending school during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- All students and staff will complete a Qualtrics COVID Safety Survey each morning (the survey is sent to Student's school email).
- Students will be directed to the central building breezeway as they enter campus where they will show their green checkmark from the completed survey permitting them to be on campus.
- Students will walk through the thermal-imaging temperature cameras in the breezeway as they show their green Qualtrics survey checkmarks.
- Face coverings (masks) are required inside and are optional while outside. Please ensure that your students bring a mask everyday.
|
|
If you have received a COVID 19 test, do not attend school until you receive the results of that test and then only if you are negative for COVID 19. Additionally, if you have been exposed to a person who has recently tested positive for COVID-19 please stay home and contact the school attendance office.
In accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), CA Dept. of Public Health (CDPH), and Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA), we ask that you complete the Qualtrics survey each morning prior to arriving on campus. However, please do not attend school if you have experienced any COVID-related symptoms:
- Flu-like symptoms such as fever of 100.4 or greater
- Chills
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose that is not associated with a pre-existing condition or other chronic health condition.
If you have received a COVID 19 test, do not attend school until you receive the results of that test and then only if you are negative for COVID 19.
Further, following the recommendations issued by the CDC, the CDPH has issued guidance in support of full in-person instruction and to as much instructional time as possible. A link to that guidance is included at the bottom of this communication.
Please note that masks will be required by all staff and students while indoors regardless of vaccinated status. As an extra precaution, FJUHSD is committed to continuing the enhanced cleaning procedures established to ensure that our schools are clean, sanitized, and safe. Further, temperatures will continue to be taken each morning.
