Dear FUHS Families,

Our students came to school this week for Orientation! It was exciting to see so many happy and excited students...and parents! Thank you to all of our staff and ASB students who helped ensure that we took care of everyone that came through! We had JROTC and many sports programs come out to recruit students for their teams. If you or your students still have questions about their schedule or are trying to get involved, please contact their school counselor. See below for their email information.
As I mentioned before, every week I will be sending out this "Principal's Newsletter" highlighting important information, the week's events, activities, and sporting events, as well as highlighting the many accomplishments of our students. Please make sure to review it and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out. Information will also be on our school website at www.fullertonhigh.org. I also post consistently on my social media @Principal_Rubio as do most of our clubs and sports teams! Make sure to stay involved and connected. 

This week our teachers will be back and will be planning for the opening of the school year next week. I am excited to welcome them in person after a hopefully relaxing summer! See you soon!

First Day of School 2021-2022
First Week of School
The first week of school will be one of excitement! On the first day, our students will be on a regular bell schedule so that they can meet all of their teachers and start getting to know each other. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we will be on an alternative schedule so that our LinkCrew can lead us into some fun activities and start off the year with great spirit! We will end the week with an assembly schedule so that we can have a Welcome Back rally in our new gym! We are excited to be able to have these activities for our students. We can't wait to have them back on campus!
Athletics
Our Fall sports begin their season within the next two weeks and we are excited to be able to move forward. It is also not too early to get in and try out for our Winter and Spring Sports. If you have any questions please direct them to Coach Olivas at jolivas@fjuhsd.org.

For the 2021-2022 school year your son or daughter must be athletically cleared to play. Athletic clearance information is on our website at www.FullertonIndiansAthletics.com or www.fullertonhigh.org

Announcement from FJUHSD - Recent Legislation
In the last couple of weeks, you have received information regarding new legislation (AB104) to help and support our students after a long and arduous year. There is important information regarding Grade Changes, Exemptions, and Retentions. There are important deadlines that we need to abide by. COVID
Please note that masks will be required by all staff and students while indoors regardless of vaccinated status. As an extra precaution, FJUHSD is committed to continuing the enhanced cleaning procedures established to ensure that our schools are clean, sanitized, and safe. Further, temperatures and Qualtrics screening will continue to be taken each morning.

El Comité Consultivo de Apréndices del Inglés (ELAC) es un grupo para padres de estudiantes apréndices del inglés y está abierto a miembros de la comunidad. La meta es crear la comunicación eficaz entre la escuela, los maestros y padres. Los objectivos centrales son:

* aconsejar a la directora y al personal de la escuela acerca de programas y servicios necesarios para el éxito de los estudiantes apréndices del inglés.

* ofrecer la oportunidad para padres de apréndices del inglés de platicar y presentar sus puntos de vista, perspectivas, y necesidades relacionadas al éxito de su estudiante.
