Boys Basketball finished their season this week with a hard fought loss to Chatsworth in the first round of CIF State playoffs. We are so proud of the boys for all their hard work and commitment to each other and the TRIBE. Great job boys, can’t wait to see what exciting things you do next year.
Baseball opened the Freeway League season at Sonora on Wednesday. Senior Ace, Sebastian Fany threw a 2-hit extra inning (8 innings) shut out versus Seniors Jack Meek (committed to Cal State Fullerton) and Sebastian Zamorano at Sonora. The game was scoreless through 7 full innings, when Junior George Papadatos hit a towering homerun over the left field fence to take the lead in the top of the 8th inning. Fullerton defense held them in the bottom half of the inning to secure the 1 to 0 WIN! Congratulations to the varsity team for their 1st league win. Next game will be at home vs. Division 6 CIF Champs La Habra on Friday, March 4.
Softball: Softball is 8-2 after a win over Bellflower (13-1) and a loss to El Dorado (10-2). Varsity takes on Rancho Alamitos next week while JV takes on Rancho Alamitos and Garden Grove. Keep up the good work girls.
Boys Volleyball: The boys played two games this week losing both to Valencia and Monrovia. The boys are fighting tough and working to get better everyday.
Track: Our Track team is preparing for two meets coming up next week. On Thursday there will be a Tri-Meet between FUHS, La Mirada and Santa Fe High Schools here at FUHS starting at 3:00 pm. The Rotary Tri-City Meet will be held on Saturday at FUHS starting at 9 am. Come see and cheer on three of our city’s high schools at one event and a fun filled day.
Swim: This week our swim team team took on El Dorado with our girls winning their meet and the boys falling short of a victory. The team is jumping back into the pool right away with three meets next week against Claremont on Monday, Oxford Academy on Tuesday, and Segerstrom on Thursday. A busy week for all our swim.
Golf: Our Boys Golf team continues preparing for their season opener with Santa Fe High School on March 15th.
Boys Tennis: Boys Tennis beat Brea on Thursday night with a score of 10-8.Walnut on Monday and Magnolia on Wednesday. Boys are dining a great job with Coach Inthavong and Coach Hess.
