Happy Friday FUHS Families!
Our semester continues this week and we are still a little bit bumpy with the surge continuing. Please be assured that we are taking all measures necessary to keep our staff and students safe and healthy.
As mentioned in my message from earlier this week, the CDPH has provided voluntary and free COVID-19 home tests for students. In order to reduce the amount of time students may be out for COVID-19, the distribution of the home test kits will be done at Fullerton Union High School and prioritized for those students who are experiencing symptoms or believe they have been exposed. Please contact our LVN Doug Lance at 714-626-3817 to request a home test kit or with any inquiries you may have about the home test kits. The District will not be monitoring test outcomes but will be available to provide resources and respond to any positive result. Since this notice came out on Wednesday we have received the rest of the testing kits here in our office and are ready for continued distribution.
There are also new guidelines limiting the amount of people that can be in an indoor event. As of tomorrow we have a limit of 500 people in our gym, which includes athletes and participants. Please stay in contact with our team coaches and advisors for updated information.
We have had to cancel or postpone some events on our campus and cut back on non-essential activities for now. As we are able, we are committed to hosting these events and activities on our campus as soon as we are able. Stay tuned!
I hope you enjoy this three day weekend in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

For the second year running, The Pleiades has won first place in the American Scholastic Press Association 2021 Yearbook & Magazine contest. This is an annual nationwide contest and this year, we are also the proud winners in the Most Outstanding High School Yearbook category for our 2021 yearbook, "Unprecedented"; there were only five schools in the nation who earned this distinction, and we are honored to be the only school on the west coast to have received this honor. Congratulations to Ms. Cindy Ortiz and her amazing Yearbook Staff!

If you have received a COVID 19 test, do not attend school until you receive the results of that test and then only if you are negative for COVID 19. Additionally, if you have been exposed to a person who has recently tested positive for COVID-19 please stay home and contact the school attendance office.
In accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), CA Dept. of Public Health (CDPH), and Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA), we ask that you complete the Qualtrics survey each morning prior to arriving on campus. However, please do not attend school if you have experienced any COVID-related symptoms:
- Flu-like symptoms such as fever of 100.4 or greater
- Chills
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose that is not associated with a pre-existing condition or other chronic health condition.
If you have received a COVID 19 test, do not attend school until you receive the results of that test and then only if you are negative for COVID 19.
Further, following the recommendations issued by the CDC, the CDPH has issued guidance in support of full in-person instruction and to as much instructional time as possible. A link to that guidance is included at the bottom of this communication.
Please note that masks will be required by all staff and students while indoors regardless of vaccinated status. As an extra precaution, FJUHSD is committed to continuing the enhanced cleaning procedures established to ensure that our schools are clean, sanitized, and safe. Further, temperatures will continue to be taken each morning.
