Boys Volleyball
Congrats to the boys on a great season. The boys, with a starting lineup of 1 senior, 2 junior, and 4 sophomores overachieved all season long. What was supposed to be a set up season to make a run at making the playoffs next year turned out to be a dream season for the boys. After finishing 3rd in league, the boys had to go on the road to play a wild card game to get in the playoffs, beating Rancho Alamitos 3-0. In the first round, the boys traveled again to Firebaugh who had a 24-2 record, and league champions. The boys came away with a sweeping 3-0 win. In the 2nd round, the boys avenged an early season loss to Magnolia by beating them 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, our boys ran into a much bigger Wiseburn Di Vinci, which is ranked #1 in our division, ending our season with a final record of 21-11. Wiseburn’s front court size was just too much for our boys to overcome. The boys battled and never gave up, losing 23-25, 19-25, 16-25. They left everything on the court, and that is all a coach can ask for. Congrats to our seniors Emmett Young, Ethan Du, and Davide Biagino for being a part of this historical season, The boys were not even mentioned anywhere in the preseason polls, but ended their season ranked #8 in division and ranked # 5 by MaxPreps. Great job boys. Go Tribe.
