Week 7 - Second Semester
Saturday, February 19, 2022
Hello FUHS Families!

We are having a great week at FUHS! The frenzy continues as our Winter sports are still going while Spring Sports are starting their turn in competition. Our Academy of the Arts had a Gallery show and ComedySportz competition as well! I love all the activity on our campus! It's keeping our students excited about school and definitely giving us a much needed sense of normalcy! School spirit is way up as our teams and programs do well across the board! Let's keep this run going!

Have a great three day weekend!

Athletics Review Feb. 14th to Feb. 18th

Boys Basketball: Boys Basketball wins big in the 2nd round with a 62-45 win over top ranked Rio Mesa High School. This marks the first time Boys Basketball has been in the Quarter Finals since 2005. The TRIBE took on San Dimas High School on Friday and it was a close game, but we persevered and beat San Dimas in overtime 44-38. We are moving on to the Semi-Finals!! We will be @ Artesia High School on Tuesday!  Come join us and cheer on the TRIBE!

Boys Soccer: The Tribe defeated Cathedral 3-2 in the second round of CIF. Fullerton scores first on a PK and goes into half with a 2-1 lead. Inclement weather delayed the second half of the game due to lightning and hail. The weather couldn’t stop our boys as they built their lead to 3-1 scoring in the 72nd minute. Final score- 3-2. Boys then traveled to Mira Costa on Friday for their Division 1 Quarter Final game. The Boys played hard but unfortunately lost 3-1. It was a great season boys and we couldn’t be prouder!

Wrestling: Congratulations to Daisy Castañeda, finishing 5th place in the 111s, and Julia Bustamante finishing 8th place in the 160s. Both girls are headed to the Masters Tournament! Nathan Diaz in the 220 weight class was CIF CHAMPION! Congratulations Nathan! Also congratulations to Austin Hulsizer who came in 4th place and Levi Banuelos who came in 5th place! Good luck to everyone as we move on to the Masters meet which began Friday! Moving on to day 2 is Levi Banuelos! Good luck Levi, keep on representing the best of FUHS!

Baseball opened the season at home vs. Corona del Mar on Saturday with a big 3-1 win! They opened the Loara tournament on Friday at Home vs Dana Hills with another big win! We beat Dana Hills 8-2! More games coming next week!

Softball stayed hot with 2 more wins this week vs Valencia 20-3, and Katella 11-4. Softball will be at home this weekend vs Godinez (11:00) and Garden Grove (2:00). Both games are part of the Savannah Showcase and will be played at FUHS. Great job ladies!! Let’s keep it going!
