AVID
AVID seniors rocked the SchoolsFirst 'Bite of Reality' event, diving into real-life money decisions like pros! This hands-on simulation, designed to provide students with a taste of real-world financial decision-making, saw AVID seniors navigating through various financial scenarios. Students were assigned a job, credit score, and a family. Students had to pick housing, childcare, and groceries-- all while, hopefully, staying on a budget. Their active participation underscores the invaluable skills fostered through the AVID program, preparing them for success beyond graduation

BEAST
Our Golden Bell-award winning BEAST and FUHS Theatre Arts students had the opportunity to travel to Hollywood to meet with 3-time Oscar award winner Ve Neill (Pirates of the Caribbean, Hunger Games, Beetlejuice) at Legends Makeup Academy. Ms. Neill treated the students to a demonstration of Prosthetic makeup and answered lots of questions about careers in the Special Makeup FX industry.

Cheer, Song, & STUNT:
Our Song and STUNT teams have been practicing every day and working hard.
Our Song team is working on new routines, cleaning their technique, and getting ready for their Song clinic in April!
Our STUNT team had their STUNT clinic this past Saturday for student-athletes in the Fullerton area ages 10-14! We taught them all about what STUNT the Sport is. The athletes learned a partner stunt and a jumps and tumbling routine. These athletes will have a chance to perform during our scrimmage with Westminster High School this Saturday, February 24th! We have two game times: 9:30 AM and 11 AM at Fullerton Gym! Our clinic athletes will be performing in between the two games! Come out and support your FUHS STUNT team! Admission for the scrimmage on Saturday is $5!
We have an informational meeting for 2024/2025 team tryouts on February 29th in the Staff Cafeteria at 6:00pm! This is for anyone interested in being part of the cheer and song team for the 2024/2025 school year! Parents and athletes are welcome!

Softball
Softball played 3 tough games last week. On Saturday the Tribe hosted St Paul and St Anthony as part of the Savanna Classic. The Tribe fell to St Paul 6-4 and St Anthony 3-2. Multi-hit games were recorded this last weekend by Senior Tianna Salcido, Sophomores Melia Vera and Andre Montes De Oca, and freshman Sofia Holton. Malaya Majam-Finch and Katelynn Mathews were strong in the circle for the Tribe. Yesterday Fullerton traveled to Orange County 12th ranked El Modena. The Tribe played great defense and got excellent pitching from it’s 2 pitchers, but ended up falling the the Vanguards 2-1 in 8 innings. Freshman Katelynn Mathews was very good in the circle and had the lone RBI for Fullerton. The Tribe travels to Bullhead City next week to play in the national Dave Kops Tournament of Champions. Roll Tribe Roll!

Boys Tennis:
FUHS Boys Varsity had a strong showing against Segerstrom, winning 12-6. For the singles, Tim Chung and Ben Villalobos won all 6 sets played, Diego Gomez played well and contributed 1 point for the singles squad. Our doubles team of McWatters/Bek won 2 of 3 sets, and the doubles team of Park/Sprague also won 2 of 3 sets. The doubles team of Esterson/Krishman contributed 1 point for the team. Thus far in the preseason, the team is 3-0. Great start team!

Track & Field
The track team, consisting of over 130 athletes, traveled to Valencia High School to take on them and Anaheim in what will now be known as the Tri City Tri Meet! All teams put up impressive early season marks. The score was not kept as this was a scrimmage meet. The team will participate in a long standing tradition by competing in the Fullerton City Meet hosted by the Rotary Club here at Fullerton High School.

Boys Volleyball
Congrats to the boys for the great win at Valencia to officially open up the spring season on Monday. The boys got off to a slow start, losing the first set 22-25, but then came back and won the next 3 sets 25-22, 25-15, 26-24, to clinch the game 3-1. Despite the strong serving from Valencia, our boys were able to control the passing game, which in turn, allowed our setter Hynmin Kim to run our offense efficiently. Johnny Leonardo led the team with kills, and Dominic Valenzuela led the team in blocks. Rowan Yeo leads the team in digs, with Jack Castellano also making some solid plays on the defensive side. Newcomer Cameron Hird also got a chance to showcase his length, helping out Nathan Medina and Christian Zimmerman in the middle. Our JV also had a good start, losing 1-2 in a very closely contested match. The next game is Friday against Brea Olinda here at home, then on to the Tustin Tournament on Saturday. Go Tribe!
