Celebrations

National Signing Day!

We had our first round of athletes committing to play at the collegiate level! Congratulations to Ana, Emi, and Tiana!

Speech and Debate

Every year during our Homecoming festivities we also induct a new cohort of FUHS Alumni into our Wall of Fame! We had the privilege of inducting Shirley Owens McClanahan-Class of 1973, Chris Norby-Class of 1968, and Richard Jewett-Class of 1930. We thank Mr. Norby and the families of Shirley and Richard for being present as we honored their achievements. We also had our amazing Culinary Academy present serving some really good hors d'oeuvres.

Activities

JROTC

Last weekend, 35 cadets and chaperones spent the night on the battleship Iowa. The Cadets attended classes, visited the museum, and were given tours of the ship. The dog in the photo is "Vicky" the Captain's dog that lived on the ship during WWII.

STEM Scholars

Did you know up to 80% of the trash in the ocean comes from the land? Today the Environmental Science Club, Alliance for Sustainability Club, and STEM Scholars Club teamed up to reduce pollution. In anticipation of the rain forecasted for next week, students spent their lunch time cleaning up the parking lot to prevent trash from being washed into the ocean. They collected 6 trashbags of waste that would have polluted our waterways. Thank you to our FUHS science students for making a real positive impact for our environment and local community.

Winter Season has arrived!

Boys Basketball

On Friday 11/3 the basketball program had their annual Tribe Madness meet the team night. Thanks to all the parents and sponsors who made this night possible for our players. The Varsity, JV, and Freshman teams kick off the season in tournaments next week. Varsity is co-hosting Rumble for Rosecrans Ave. The tournament opens in the first round with Orange Lutheran on Monday 11/13 at 8pm at FUHS.

Girls Basketball

The Girls and Boys teams hosted the Tribe Madness event last Friday to kick off the season and meet the players. Thank you to all the booster club parents, volunteers, and sponsors for their support! The girls are looking forward to playing their first games of the season next week! If you would like to show your support for the girls' basketball program, please visit: https://www.blastathletics.com/teams/94391/sponsors/new and follow us on Instagram at @fullertongirlsbasketball.

Girls Soccer

Girls Soccer rode into November focused, starting off the month with morning training, then their 23’-24’ Gear Day. Another exciting start to November, our Principal Dr. Rubio was presented with her Honorary Membership to FUHS Girls Soccer. Captains McKenna Buz’Zard and Janelle Flores, along with Varsity Coach Maisterra presented Dr. Rubio her game day jersey with 17’ to represent the year she started at FUHS. Welcome to the team Dr. Rubio!

Girls Soccer had their first annual Season Kick off Dinner! Players and Parents filled The Bowery in Downtown Fullerton to celebrate the year ahead and meet the teams. What an amazing night starting a new tradition.  Varsity soccer is determined to start this year with momentum, quickly approaching their first two preseason matchups. Coach Maisterra speaks about the matches ahead. “It’s important we start off decisive, assertive, and aggressive. We want to play on our opponent's side the majority of the match, we have dynamic center midfielders who can control the pace of play, I’m excited for the team” Girls Soccer travels to Long Beach on Wednesday, Nov. 15 to face Jordan HS, then Hacienda Heights on Monday, Nov 20 to go up against Wilson HS. GoTribe!

Boys Soccer

Boy’s Soccer headed into their second week of training. Getting conditioned and organized for the start of the season. Teams are going through preseason preparations like ordering uniforms. Getting into training routines and starting to work on mechanics and game strategy. Our teams went to Fullerton College on Friday to support our graduates who play there. They won their Conference Championship and we saw Misael Gonzalez who was one of our Varsity MVPs become the school's second all-time leading scorer
