Prior Authorization Reform Amendment Act

Councilmember Mary Cheh and colleagues introduced a bill that would "prohibit insurers from requiring prior authorization for a treatment solely on cost". The bill also pushes to "sets timelines for insurers to respond to prior authorization requests and appeals, and lays out the qualifications of personnel qualified to make these determinations".
