Making Mental Health Part of Your Academic Routine | | |
As the back-to-school season ramps up, it’s easy to focus on calendars, classes, and commitments, but don’t forget to prioritize your mental well-being, too. Whether you're a student adjusting to college life, a parent supporting your child’s move to campus, or just someone trying to stay steady through a busy time, RCBM is here to help.
In this issue, we’re sharing practical advice from our experts, resources for college-aged students and their families, and a few feel-good features to help you wind up your August with intention.
| | Start the Semester With a Plan for Your Mental Health | | Kicking off a new school year? In this short video, Dr. Oleshansky, clinical health psychologist and mom, reminds students that well-being matters just as much as academics. | |
Key tips:
-
Busy doesn't equal balanced – More isn't always better when it comes to scheduling.
-
Move every day – Take a walk, dance to music, or make plans to move with a friend.
-
Use nature as medicine – Even a few minutes outdoors or looking at natural images can ease stress.
