In 2017, the Paxinosa Elementary School community experienced low staff satisfaction and increased disciplinary measures. After becoming a trauma-informed school, discipline referrals dropped 200% in only three years and staff morale noticeably increased.

Thanks to Paxinosa's success, Easton Area School District (EASD) is prioritizing student and staff mental health by implementing trauma-awareness training in many schools, including Cheston Elementary School, Easton Area Middle School, and Easton Area High School.
To help students build emotional resilience, we teamed up with United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley to create and distribute individual calming kits to students at three Allentown Community Schools this fall.

Kits include coloring books, stress putty, popper toys, and more to help students learn personal self-regulation strategies and combat stress.
Helping Families Build Resilience
Thanks to funding from United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, The Baker Foundation, and Women United, Resilient LV and Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley offered instruction to help break the cycle of family and community trauma. Trauma-Informed Restorative Practice and Emotional Intelligence and Equity (T.R.E.E) training helps empower parents and caregivers like Gerardo Murrias to connect with children and manage personal trauma.
Join Trauma 102
Rising emotional and mental health needs in both youth and adults, increased exposure to adverse childhood experiences, and heightened vicarious trauma in professionals are common pandemic side effects.

During Resilient LV's upcoming FREE training session, we're discussing how trauma impacts the brain and body. Join us on November 17th and help us promote safety and healing in our most vulnerable youth and adult populations. Attendees will receive CEU credit for training participation.
