Catch gloves MUST open and close easily and contain pucks. If they don't you will develop bad habits and not be effective as a goalie. Watch this video of a BRAND NEW custom made catch glove. It opens and closes properly and instantly with no break-in required, and holds on to pucks.

Be sure to check your SKATE BLADES. With frequent sharpenings
they loose height, and the toes get rounded, which will effect your
down mobility, as well as your transitions from knees to skates.
Many of my students also carry a spare set of blades in their bag
pre-sharpened.
