What's Happening with Prince of Peace
Friday, July 23, 2021
|
|
At the recent memorial service for Joan & Jim Goepfert, I was tasked with describing how their lives were inextricably woven into the history of Prince of Peace. As Charter Members, joining during the first year of the church’s ministry in 1957-58, Joan & Jim lived faithfully to support the work of this church and the people who comprised it throughout its 64 years. One thing that Pastors Betsy, Ruth and I share with every pastor that has ever served Prince of Peace, is that we all had the privilege to have been called “Pastor” by Joan & Jim.

Sunday's Preacher: Pastor Ruth
When God created the creatures of the air, water, and land, God called them “good.” And when God created humans, part of our call is to tend to the goodness of creation, to partner with our non-human planet partners. What does the creation story tell us about our responsibility to our fellow creatures?

God created the earth and all that is in it. During the month of July we are exploring God’s creation and our relationship to it through our Sunday worship series and artwork by people related to Prince of Peace. Thank you to Diane Dodge for curating the weekly in-person displays around the themes of air and sky, water, land and plants, creatures and heavens and earth.

Current Worship Series:
On Earth
|
We pray, as Jesus taught us, for God’s will to be done on earth, as in heaven. God has assigned us to a place of privilege and responsibility. But if we are truly to be God’s hands at work caring for creation, we seemed to be falling short.
