Ray-Pec Cares announces partnerships to support students
Ray-Pec Cares introduces two new partnerships designed to help meet the needs of students and families. Allison Scott, Ray-Pec Student Support Coordinator, and Director of Ray-Pec Cares, introduced the two partnerships at a kick-off breakfast on March 2.
Ray-Pec Cares now offers businesses, churches, and other organizations a structured opportunity to "adopt" a school.

Through the program, the partner makes a one-year commitment to work with a specific school. The agreement includes supporting or hosting one school-based activity and making at least one donation to the school community.

Support can come in many forms and may include volunteer assistance, serving as judges for competitions, donating supplies and equipment, or conducting educational sessions.
Ray-Pec Cares, through the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation, announces the use of CarePortal to help provide specific support to students and families.

CarePortal is a technology platform that matches needs of hurting children and families with donations from community partners and churches.

After identifying a need for a local child or family, the school district can submit the request through CarePortal, which will notify the closest churches, businesses, and organizations who are signed up for the network.

Examples of needs include: a crib for a newborn baby, utility bill payment to prevent shut-off, a dog kennel, or clothing in a specific size.

The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation already works with the school district to meet needs of our families. CarePortal will extend that work into the community.
