Half an hour later, a car pulled up with two ladies. As they got out of the car, the two ladies, a pregnant woman and her cousin, approached the group from St. Cecilia and asked the Coordinator, “what are you doing here?” She responded that they were praying that she wouldn’t get an abortion. The pregnant woman told them that she was going to get an abortion because she had just lost her car and couldn’t pay her rent. All those praying encouraged her to go across the street because the Women’s Care Center could help her. She agreed, and as they were walking to WCC, the cousin told the Coordinator that she had come to this Planned Parenthood for an abortion in the past and that people praying on the sidewalk had convinced her to choose life for her child. Though, sadly, she later miscarried, she was so thankful she hadn’t decided to have an abortion.
When the two women emerged from WCC, they were all smiles. The pregnant woman reported that she had an appointment on Monday to possibly get a car. The cousin then said, “I was praying that you all would be here when we got here. If Planned Parenthood had been open, we probably wouldn’t have been able to talk to you.”
The group from St. Cecilia reported that they all felt the Lord had designed the entire experience. Many of the group has been counseling on the Sidewalk since 2013 and before, and this was the first such experience they had.
