Farm-to-Table Events at Pro-Vision, Inc.'s Community Garden | |
Pro-Vision, Inc.'s Community Garden serves as an educational and outreach resource for Character Development members and their families. By imparting knowledge about farm-to-table practices and nurturing our land, we promote a heightened sense of environmental responsibility and care for our planet. Our primary objective is to invest our youth and their families with a vision, commitment, and tools to achieve future community independence and success, thereby addressing the food desert crisis in the Sunnyside Community.
Through the Community Garden and Outreach Program, we facilitate the integration of fresh vegetables into households. Thank you to our dedicated Chef Volunteers who joined us this summer to prepare healthy meals using the fruits and vegetables grown in our Community Garden.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our College Care Packages made a significant impact. Eligible seniors received these care packages, including our Character Development members starting college this fall. Your contributions provided crucial support, ensuring a smooth and empowering transition to college life.
Our College Care Packages included everything incoming freshmen need for their new dorm rooms, including essentials, a laptop, school supplies, and a gift card for food and gas. With your help, we eased the challenge of moving away to college, making them feel truly at home.

Our Character Development members had an incredible time during the Summer Retreat to San Antonio. Exploring the historic Alamo and delving into its rich history was an enlightening experience for all.
The trip perfectly blended education, fun, and team-building activities. Our members soaked in the historical significance of The Alamo, learning about the brave individuals who fought for freedom and independence. It was a humbling experience that reminded us of the importance of courage, resilience, and unity.

Another unforgettable fishing expedition for our Character Development members at Lake Conroe! In April and May, we were fortunate to have Hero Adventures by our side, providing unwavering support in educating our members about fishing and facilitating exceptional outdoor experiences.
With each excursion, Hero Adventures' dedication and our chaperones' watchful guidance elevated these expeditions to moments of extraordinary impact. The enduring commitment they display to enriching our program is truly commendable.
