National Night Out Connects ProAct with Community

August kicked-off with National Night Out, and a number of our sites celebrated! Participants had a blast meeting with first responders and law enforcement.

In Eagan, they celebrated by inviting the Eagan Fire Department, and participants got to explore the fire truck and meet their neighborhood firefighters.

In Red Wing, the police, fire and EMT crews from Goodhue County and the city of Red Wing came with fire trucks, an ambulance and squad cars. Participants learned about officers' gear and vehicles, and were also able to hop inside the vehicles to check them out!

ProAct connects our participants with the community each week. Events like National Night Out provide an excellent opportunity for not only our participants to see all that our communities have to offer, but also to build meaningful relationships with local leaders, small businesses, and our neighbors.

Exciting Changes are Coming to Red Wing

While we're still enjoying beautiful autumn weather, there's no denying that winter weather won't be far behind. There are those bad weather days when it's difficult for participants to get outside, or roads may be dangerous to travel far. That's why ProAct Red Wing is changing a section of our work floor into a brand new indoor gym!

For participants who may have mobility issues or just want another place to stay active, this spot will include an indoor basketball hoop, volleyball net, mats for a yoga and an exercise studio. We are excited about this project!

ProAct Red Wing is currently getting bids for gym curtains, paint and more, and we look forward to sharing more as this exciting project comes together! This will be an important resource for our Red Wing participants and will ensure everyone can still have fun and stay healthy on those cold winter days.
