Take A Breather

It's crucial to keep in mind that if you work for more than five hours, it is mandatory to take at least a thirty-minute lunch break. During this time, your lunch break should be uninterrupted, entirely free from work-related responsibilities, and must begin before the end of your fifth hour of work. And, don’t forget to drink plenty of water with that lunch.  

Beware of Tool Theft

Over the past 6 months we have seen more tool theft incidents than any year prior. While thieves are generally targeting company vehicles, there have been many cases of personal vehicles also being broke into. We want to spread awareness that crime is on the rise in many of the areas we live and work in. The thefts that have occurred generally happen in the early morning hours, but some have happened during the day and even right in the Home Depot parking lots. If you do experience a theft, please report it to your manager right away. If a company vehicle or tools are involved, you will be required to complete an incident report and obtain a police report. If personal tools are stolen, we strongly encourage you to file a police report. Unfortunately, ProTec cannot reimburse or replace personal tools if stolen. Below are some tips we recommend to help protect everyone from this horrible crime that occurs too much and affects peoples livelihood.

• Always lock your doors, toolboxes and chain or cable lock equipment to a solid steel location in the back of your truck.
• Install multiple hasps with heavy padlocks on truck toolboxes.
• Tint vehicle windows.
• Do not leave tools in open sight inside your vehicle. Always cover up everything with a blanket or tarp.
• Remove expensive and or large equipment from your vehicle and place inside your residence at night.
• Do not park in unfamiliar locations, locations with poor lighting, back of parking lots or concealed areas with no visibility.
• Install a low-profile toolbox on your truck, this will deter thieves driving around looking for toolboxes.
• Mark and engrave all tools. Law enforcement recommends engraving your Driver’s License number on your tools. This allows Law Enforcement and Pawn Shops to identify if someone is the tools owner or not. Always mark cases and tools, not just the case.

Updated Benefits List

Last week we released a full List of Benefits. It has EVERYTHING from vacation time to insurance, Fountain of Dreams and even the Company Used Truck Program, It has been posted on the P Drive as well as the ProTec website and the internal site. Everyone should have received a physical copy along with their paycheck this week. We want to make sure everyone is fully informed on all the amazing benefits that come with working at ProTec.
