September's Winner is...

by Danyelle Reese

Antonio Vargas is a shining example of dedication and adaptability in Department 850. His unwavering commitment to going above and beyond is evident day in and day out, making him an invaluable asset to our team. Recently, a unique challenge emerged as there was an approved job without a clear candidate for the task. In unanimous agreement, Antonio was entrusted with this assignment, even though it fell outside his typical scope of work. Antonio fearlessly embraced the opportunity to step into uncharted territory and, to everyone's delight, not only rose to the occasion but exceeded all expectations. Notably, the property owner reached out to express their profound satisfaction with Antonio's performance. His dedication, enthusiasm, and exceptional work did not go unnoticed.

Antonio's willingness to embrace new challenges and deliver outstanding results is a testament to his remarkable work ethic and team spirit. We are incredibly fortunate to have Antonio as a member of our team, and his contributions continue to enhance our collective success.

Covid is Here to Stay

by Dave Rauch

There was much we learned during the great Covid pandemic of 2020: how important it is to wash your hands, social distancing slows the spread of flu bugs, Covid isn’t going anywhere, and by working together, we can get through anything. It’s been said that we’re going to be dealing with Covid for the rest of our lives, just like we deal with the flu. And sure enough, we’ve seen cases of the flu/Covid here at ProTec.  So, what do we do?  First, if you feel unwell, especially if you have a fever, please stay home and see a doctor. Get in the habit of washing your hands every time you go the bathroom. If you are feeling like you might have a cold, and you must come to work, then please wear a mask so you can keep the virus from spreading. When I catch a cold, I reduce how long I have it by taking ColdEze or Zinc. I’m not a doctor, but this has worked fairly well for me for 50 years. Ultimately, stay healthy; keep fit with plenty of exercise and try to fuel your body with good food choices, maybe some fruit and vegetables. If you wish to learn more about the differences between Covid, Flu and Colds then read more here.

Leading by Example

by Danyelle Reese

Leadership isn't always confined to a job title, it's a quality that resides in actions. The truth is, everyone can be a leader by leading through example. Whether you're in a formal leadership role or not, your behavior and attitude have the power to inspire and influence those around you.

  1. Be Accountable
  2. Be a Team Player
  3. Communicate Effectively
  4. Show Empathy
  5. Be Adaptable
  6. Continuously Learn
  7. Support Others Successes
  8. Lead with Integrity

Remember, leadership is not about being at the front of the line; it's about showing the way forward. By embodying these qualities and leading by example, you can be a leader in your own right, helping to create a positive and influential impact on those around you. Leadership is not reserved for the few; it's a path open to everyone who chooses to walk it.
