30 Years of ProTec

by Dave Rauch

This Monday marks 30 years since ProTec first opened its doors, and honestly, it’s wild to think about how far we’ve come.

What started as a small operation located in Santee with 9 employees, has grown in ways I couldn’t have fully imagined back then. Over the years, we’ve seen a lot of change with new employees, new offices, and new opportunities. We’ve expanded beyond San Diego into Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire, and Las Vegas, welcomed three other companies into the ProTec family, and continued to evolve alongside this crazy industry.

What hasn’t changed is the heart of this company. ProTec has always been about people and our love of our Core Purpose of Improving Quality of Life for us ProTecians and our clients. And, it’s about our adherence to our Core Values (Rules) of Safety First, All In, Learn and Grow and Own It. This purpose and these core rules are what bring us together and keep us together. You are the best: you show up every day, take pride in what you do, and keep this company moving forward

Together, we’ve had the opportunity to impact the lives of thousands of homeowners and communities over the last 30 years. That’s more than just work. It’s real impact, and it truly matters.

As I look ahead, I’m excited about what’s next. I see ProTec becoming a national company, with 15 offices and 1,000 team members serving 1M Homeowners. I’m incredibly grateful for each one of you who plays a role in keeping this company running every day and pursuing this goal.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m proud of what we’ve built together and even more excited about where we’re headed.

BUSINESS NEWS

Welcome our new HR Manager

by Dave Rauch

I’m so excited to welcome our new HR Manager, Barbara Jimenez, back to the ProTec team. While she may be a new face to some of you, Barbara previously worked with us, spent some time away (in chilly Chicago), and has now returned. We’re truly happy to have her back and I’m super grateful to welcome her home.

Barbara brings a strong, people-first mindset and she will be a great resource for us as well as a valuable addition to the Executive Team. As we continue to grow, her leadership and support will play an important role in taking the utmost care of our teams. Barbara understands that every ProTecian yearns to be seen and heard, and ultimately, to be happy.

Please join me in giving Barbara a warm welcome back. If you need to reach her for anything, you can call her at 858-243-0850 or email her at BJimenez@protec.com.

We're Raffling off $$$

by Liz Teposte

We finally hit 30 days safe last week, and that’s worth celebrating. To say thank you for everyone’s hard work and commitment to safety, we did a raffle and pulled 20 names. Each of our lucky winners is getting a $100 check. Click below to watch the video and see if your name pops up.

If you won, your check is already on the way. Rosie didn’t waste a second. She jumped in, cut the checks, and got them sent out right away. She's a rockstar. If you didn’t win don’t despair. If we go (60-38=22) 22 days without a lost time accident, then we’re going to raffle off 20 $200 checks. Stay tuned.

Big congratulations to our 20 lucky winners:

  • Ivy Gonzalez (12)
  • Nick Mayeski (20)
  • Robert Breen (50)
  • Israel Cervantes (50)

Time to Order Shirts

by Danyelle Reese

It’s that time again for the manager shirt order. I sent out an email earlier this week with the order form. If you’re planning to order any shirts this round, please be sure to submit your order by next Friday the 13th.

2026 Winter Olympics Opening Day!

by Danyelle Reese

Even though winter hasn’t really shown up for us, the Winter Olympics are officially getting started today! They’re being hosted in Italy, and if you have some downtime, it’s always fun to flip them on and catch a few events.

And even cooler, looking ahead to 2028, the Summer Olympics will be happening right here in LA, pretty much in our own backyard. Tickets are a hot commodity, so they’re doing a raffle for a chance to buy tickets. It’s a pretty exciting opportunity, especially since the Olympics don’t come to the U.S. very often, let alone this close to home in Southern California.

Safety & Superbowl

by Tim Lampman

I’m proud to share that as of today, we’ve reached 38 days safe with no lost time incidents. Thank you all for your continued focus and commitment to safety. This is an awesome accomplishment, and it’s because of each and every one of you.

As a reminder, if we make it to 60 days safe, we’ll be raffling off 20 $200 net checks to some lucky Protecians, so let’s keep this great momentum going.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Super Bowl Sunday with family and friends. The Seahawks are taking on the Patriots, so enjoy the game and the time together. Just a reminder that law enforcement will be out in full force this weekend, so if you’re heading out to watch the game, plan ahead and get there safely. If you plan on having a drink or two, please use a designated driver or a rideshare service.

Thank you for staying safe, looking out for one another, and being part of a team that truly cares. Have a great weekend!
