ProBowl: 10-0!

We're shifting our focus this quarter with a new goal: the ProBowl, aiming for a 10-0 victory! That means 10% Profit Before Tax and 0 Workers' Comp claims. You’ll be able to track our progress with the scoreboard, which will be displayed on all TVs and featured in the weekly newsletter.

Everyone has a role in this effort! Managers and supervisors are representing the "chicken," while techs, plumbers, janitors, admin, HR, etc. are representing the "mouse."

To find out how you can gain or lose yardage to help your team score a touchdown, click here for chicken and click here for mouse.

You have three options for submitting photos:

  • ProTec Connect: job 121 & expense 121
  • Text: 619-886-7870 (has been added to everyone's contacts and the employee directory app under ProTec Safety)
  • Email: Safety@ProTec.com

The funds originally allocated for Xperience Xcellence will be reallocated toward a bigger celebration if we hit our goals this quarter. And even if we don’t quite reach the 10% Profit Before Tax and 0 Workers' Comp claims, we can still celebrate if we see significant success and growth in those areas!

We'll update the scoreboard next week—right now, we're making sure all the plays are set and the referees are ready to call the game!

The Great Shake Out

by Tim Lampman

We will be participating in the Great Shake Out again on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, at 10:17 a.m. All offices are encouraged to take part to ensure we're prepared and know how to stay safe during an earthquake.

When the drill begins, everyone should Drop, Cover, and Hold On. Make sure someone at your office leads the drill. If you can't get under your desk, cover the back of your head at your current location. Afterward, please evacuate the building.

Thank you for your participation in this important drill!

INSIGHTS & INSPIRATION

Dave's Success Tips: Don't be afraid to say "no"

by Dave Rauch

Tip #47: The right thing is usually not the easy thing to do. You may sacrifice popularity for rightness, but you'll lose self-esteem for wrongness. Don't be afraid to say "no".

Winning the Battle Against Inertia

Most of us don’t feel “in the flow” all the time—even experienced leaders face inertia. The key is to shake things up and make choices that help you break free from being “stuck.”

Here are three steps to get moving again:

  • Identify Potential Obstacles: Setting a goal without considering obstacles can lead to failure. Be honest about what might hinder your progress so you can navigate around those challenges.

  • Make Yourself Accountable: It’s easy to make promises to yourself, but sharing your goals with others makes it harder to back out. Tell your colleagues, friends, and family about your plans. Having a supportive community will boost your commitment.

  • Take Immediate Action: No matter how small, take that first step right away. Show yourself and others that you’re dedicated to moving forward. As Lao Tzu said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”

Thinking about it won’t get you anywhere. Set your goal, devise a plan, and take action. Put in the effort to overcome inertia—the finish line is closer than you think!
