PROTEC SPOTLIGHT

Man of Many Talents: Rafa Aguirre, Department 60

Rafa is a man of many talents! Not only is he an incredible technician, but he’s also an amazing artist. In previous years, Rafa has shared some of his creative work with us, and this year, he’s done it again with another spooky masterpiece! My favorite part? He found a way to include the Safety Coin we all know and love, reminding us to keep safety top of mind all year long. Fantastic work, Rafa! Thanks for sharing your creativity and talent with the ProTec team!

BUSINESS NEWS

Owning It: A Key to Personal and Collective Success

by Dave Rauch

"Owning it" is more than just one of our Core Values, it’s a key to personal success. True success comes when we have the courage to acknowledge when we’re wrong, own up to our mistakes, and, when necessary, say "I’m sorry." It's a mindset that fosters growth, collaboration, and trust. I’ll be the first to admit: I don’t have all the answers. I ask for help often because I know that none of us can do it alone. Right now, I need the help of every ProTecian to truly understand the power of our Core Values. These values aren’t just words on a wall, they are the foundation of our success, both as a team and as individuals.

Here’s my hope for all of us: that we always have the courage and wisdom to “Own It”:

1. Say “I was wrong” when necessary.

2. Admit mistakes and learn from them.

3. Say “I’m sorry” when it matters.

4. Ask for help when you’re stuck or curious.

Successful people are courageous people, and courageous people develop these habits. Let’s own our actions and support each other on the journey to greater success.

Safety First

by Tim Lampman

With the arrival of fall, we’ve already experienced high winds and rain earlier this week, a reminder that cooler, wet, and windy conditions are on the way. Please stay vigilant and prioritize safety both on the road and at our jobsites.

  • Vehicle safety: Ensure your tires have proper tread and your windshield wipers are in good condition.
  • Footwear: Wear slip-resistant, ANSI-approved shoes while on all jobsites.
  • Awareness: Stay alert to your surroundings in wet and windy conditions. Avoid parking under or near trees when possible.
  • Personal protective equipment: If working near trees or in areas with potential falling objects, always wear your hard hat.

Unfortunately, an employee was injured earlier this week by a falling tree branch. This highlights the importance of being cautious and aware of potential hazards during adverse weather.

Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. Please continue to look out for yourselves and your fellow coworkers, keeping safety our top priority.

by Jon Linke

If you have a work phone and notice your contacts are outdated, please contact IT so we can sync and update them. Some phones can’t be accessed remotely, so we may need to manually update your contacts. You can reach our IT team at IT@protec.com.
