The Catechetical Corner
Diocesan Congress around the Corner
As we come into September, many of us here in the Diocese of Fresno know that our Annual Diocesan Congress is right around the corner.
The Diocese of Fresno's Congress, now going into its 33rd year, takes place on the second weekend of October every year. As we gather to celebrate fellowship and formation, we hope that all participants this year will once again take advantage of what will be offered through the various sessions and activities of the day. For those that might want to look at the sessions or register, the below links will connect you with the registration site and website.
With any large event that takes place, we need a strong and talented team to support the process of the event itself. As mentioned in previous articles concerning Congress Volunteers, this event cannot take place without the support of volunteers and all the talent that they bring to the table in this service.
For those of you that might be interested in supporting us as volunteers, you may use the link below to find out more information to register. If you know of anyone that might be interested, please share this information with them. You can also contact me through email at rflores@dioceseoffresno.org and request a digital copy for distribution in your parish community. The volunteer flyer also has a black and white version for copying purposes.

EPJ National Retreat
Encuentros de Promoción Juvenil Estados Unidos
EPJ USA is a international young adult movement that is recognized by the Vatican and is approved by the Diocese of Fresno to work here at a diocesan level. This year we had our National Retreat here in the Diocese of Fresno hosted by our Fresno group (C.G. Fresno) at Santa Teresita Youth Conference Center that took place from August 17th to August 20th.
We had over 60 young adults participate in our National Retreat that came from Arkansas, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, Oklahoma City and San Diego. We also had elections for a new national team where I was re-elected to continue my service as the National Coordinator.
At the very end on Sunday, we had Bishop Brennan celebrate our closing mass with us and it was a beautiful celebration. We want to thank the Diocese of Fresno and Bishop Brennan for the continued support and prayers for our movement here in the Diocese and in the USA.
