Santo Niño de Cebú Feast Day Mass
St. Paul Catholic Newman Center, Fresno
On January 21, the Feast of Santo Niño was celebrated by the Filipino Community at the St. Paul Catholic Newman Center in Fresno. The group held a nine-day novena from January 12-20, 2024 in preparation for the feast day. A procession of the images of the Holy Child or Santo Nino was held around the surrounding areas of the parish as they recited, prayed and contemplated on the Glorious mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
A mass with Tagalog songs was celebrated by Fr. Byron Macias, Fr. Victor Hernando and Deacon Rolando Nolasco. There was a traditional Sinulog dance performed by both adults and children to promote the Filipino culture. Many traditional Filipino foods (lechon, pancit, lumpia, etc.) and delicacies were enjoyed by everyone during the Salo-Salo or fellowship after.
