| Bishop Brennan Blesses Backpacks Ahead of the New School Year | |
To kick off the new school year, Bishop Brennan gave a special blessing to students throughout the Diocese!
Bishop Brennan celebrated the Annual Blessing of the Backpacks and Mass at Holy Spirit Church in Fresno on Sunday, August 10th. Students brought their backpacks to be blessed by Bishop Brennan following Mass!

We were happy to host the Bishop of the Diocese of Wukari in the Taraba State of Nigeria last week!
Bishop Mark Nzukwein was here to celebrate the 25th Priesthood Ordination Anniversary of Fr. Abraham Kombo who is also from the Diocese of Wukari.

We are blessed to have wonderful teachers, staff and family who help our Catholic Schools thrive and assist students to grow into fullness of life in Jesus.

Canonical Retreat
Our Diaconate Candidates have spent the last 5 years in prayerful discernment and formation as they journey towards their Ordination to the Diaconate.
One of their final preparations is attending the Canonical Retreat held at the St. Anthony Retreat Center!
Bishop Brennan signed their Call to Orders letter which the candidates received during the retreat. Our diaconate candidates will be called to the Order of the Deacon this October!

LifeTeen Steubenville Conference
Teens throughout the Diocese attended the LifeTeen Steubenville Conference at the University of San Diego from Friday, August 1st to Sunday, August 3rd.
The conference was centered around the theme of Consumed (Deuteronomy 4:24). Throughout the weekend, the youth were urged to consider what consumes them and to fill themselves with the Holy Spirit instead.

After a weekend of Masses, adoration and powerful speakers, the youth at Holy Spirit Parish went home with an eagerness to give their lives to Christ.
Thank you to everyone who helped our teens attend this event!
The group hopes to double in size for Steubenville San Diego 2026 so even more youth can experience this life-changing conference.
