Lazarus Ministry

St. John's Cathedral, Fresno

The members of the Lazarus Ministry at St. John’s Cathedral received a blessing from Fr. Ignacio Villafan on the Feast of the Epiphany. These volunteers prepare and recite the rosary at various funeral homes in Fresno for those persons or families requesting prayer for a loved one who has died.

Mass Readings: Lent

On the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of our Congregation Pious Disciples of the Divine Master on February 10, 1924, in Alba, Italy, we announce the publication of our new book on the liturgical year: A Lectio Divina Approach to the Mass Readings: Lent.

According to the Ceremonial of Bishops, 249: "Through its twofold theme of repentance and baptism, the season of Lent disposes both the catechumens and the faithful to celebrate the paschal mystery."

This book is a helpful pastoral tool to delve into the meaning of Christ's Paschal Mystery as both catechumens and faithful devoutly ascend, in this season of Lent, to the holy mountain of Easter.

Find a Hidden Treasure and

Support those in Need!

You never know what you might find at the Catholic Charities Thrift Store!

The CC Thrift Store provides clothing assistance to families in need. It is also open to the public and has a variety of offerings for any local shopper (furniture, household items, etc.)

All proceeds from the Thrift Store go directly to the Social Service Programs of Catholic Charities that assist more than 200,000 people annually.

Donations of gently used clothing, household goods and furniture are greatly needed and appreciated. If you have a donation of furniture, please call (559) 237-0851 to request a pickup.
