Bishop Brennan invites the Faithful and all First Responders

to the Annual Blue Mass

The Annual Blue Mass is coming up THIS month! Bishop Brennan invites the Faithful and all First Responders to the Diocese of Fresno's Annual Blue Mass on September 29, 2023 at St. John's Cathedral in Fresno.

The Mass will begin at 12:10pm!

The blessing of badges and vehicles will take place during Mass. We hope to see you there in honor of our First Responders.

Bishop Brennan attends Divine Mercy's Fundraiser!

Divine Mercy Catholic Church partnered with Panera Bread Restaurant last Wednesday to help raise funds for their church. The faithful enjoyed a delicious meal while 40% of the sale benefited the church!

Bishop Brennan showed up with Fr. Michael Cox at Panera to help raise some dough for Divine Mercy Catholic Church!

Thank you to those who are doing their part to help create a physical home for Divine Mercy's faith family.

Bishop Brennan wishes his Diocesan Staff a Happy Birthday

Catechetical Ministry

The Catechetical Corner

Catechetical Sunday

Each year, the Catholic Church in the United States designates the third Sunday in September as “Catechetical Sunday”— a day on which to celebrate and pray for the Church’s mission to teach the Gospel to all people. This year’s theme is “Come to me all you who labor and are burdened.” (Matthew 11:28)

As catechists, we are responding to a call to share the gift of faith with others, even as we deepen our own faith. This call may have reached you through your pastor, the director of your parish’s religious education program or through your role as a Catholic school teacher but know that this calling ultimately comes from God, whose Holy Spirit inspires and guides us.

As we celebrate Catechetical Sunday, let us remember to pray for all catechists and faith formation leaders. May the Holy Spirit continue to inspire us as we remain faithful to God and hand on the faith to future generations. Let us also reflect on how each of us is called to share in the catechetical mission of the Church. As Jesus’ invitation impels us to go forth and serve, so too, should our catechesis impel us to lives of active discipleship. On this upcoming Catechetical Sunday, may we recommit ourselves to this vital work of empowering disciples to transform the world.
