Bringing our Gifts to the King
The Feast Day of the Epiphany of which some also refer to as Three Kings Day is celebrated around the world, mostly in Europe, Spain, and Latin America. “El Dia de los Reyes”, as it’s called in Spanish, marks the glorification of baby Jesus by the Three Wise Men when they paid a visit to Jesus when he was still an infant.
Focusing on that special event in which the Magi offered their gifts to Jesus, let us reflect more upon how we fit into that picture. Let us reflect on the types of gifts that we can offer our savior.
When we look back on that story in Matthew 2:1-12 in the bible we know that the Magi were guided by a star to find the coming savior “…and behold, the star, which they had seen in the east, went on ahead of them until it came to a stop over the place where the Child was to be found. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy."
Imagine the joy the Magi must have felt knowing where it was guiding them to and of the happiness they must have felt when they would be given the opportunity to present their gifts.
