Amazing Parish With Fr. Michael Andrade, Pastor of OLPH, Clovis
Fr. Michael Andrade Shares His Experience With Amazing Parish's Denver 2022 Summit
| |
The Amazing Parish is a movement to help pastors become stronger leaders for their parishes and lead the Faithful closer to God. They provide pastors with one-on-one coaching and team building to better serve their parishes. Pastors who seek to improve skillsets in their vocation can connect with other pastors and walk together towards a healthy direction of leadership.
Fr. Michael Andrade, Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Clovis, was introduced to Amazing Parish through a friend of his – a priest of the Diocese of Oakland. His friend was experiencing great support as a new pastor from Amazing Parish and encouraged him to get involved.

The Catechetical Corner
Third Task of Catechesis: Moral Formation
As members of the Body of Christ, our actions (both good and bad) influence the Christian community. It is together, as a Church, the Body of Christ, that we grow to maturity in faith and become true disciples of Christ.
The Catholic faith requires that we live a moral life according to the natural law and the law of God as taught through the Catholic Church. We must teach about Christian modesty, the absolute right to life from conception to natural death, caring for the poor and needy, and all aspects of morality.

Quick Catechesis
Promoting Moral Formation in the Classroom
The scope and sequence of most catechism books have areas where they put a great focus on moral formation. It is present at each grade level as the central teaching in several lessons and should be present in our faith sharing and teaching.
Moral decision-making can be a variant process:
- Explore everyday situations with your students. For example, when something happens that makes us wonder, "What should I do?" Students can be guided to stop and contemplate their action and the various scenarios before they simply act or react to a situation.
- Guide students to reflect on the options by looking for some reliable resources, including Scripture, Church teachings, counseling of trusted people, and prayer to the Holy Spirit for guidance.
