Prayer Service For Crime Survivors And Their Family

Provided By The Crime Survivors Ministry

Last September 4, Maciel Godburn of the Crime Survivors Ministry, together with Sally Peralta and Israel Gonzalez from St. Paul Catholic Newman Center, offered a prayer service in Wasco cemetery to help the family of Guillermo ‘Memo’ Leon celebrate his birthday.

Maciel led the surviving family in praying the rosary, Divine Mercy chaplet, and a healing prayer for the family of homicide victims.

The Leon family released some balloons and doves as symbols of their love for Memo.

Catechetical Ministries In Motion

Annual Self-Care Retreat

The focus of the sessions for this year’s Self-Care Retreat focused on identifying and possibly rediscovering our God given gifts and renewing our commitment to our Lord to use them. The theme we used was from the movie Encanto in which a family is blessed with various gifts, and they all must work together to maintain them when things go wrong. I won’t spoil the movie for those that have not seen it.

But focusing on that theme, in working together, using our gifts, and of course, recognizing our gifts, especially in times of challenge, is a situation that may have played out several times for those that served in ministry during the pandemic and perhaps even now.

My name is Stefanie Villanueva and I attend Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Clovis. I started a Little Flowers Girls’ Club and our first meeting was in September.
