Catechetical Ministries in Motion
Thank you Congress Volunteers!
This past October 13, 14, and 15, we were blessed to once again be able to offer our Diocesan Congress and Youth Day. It was an amazing and enthusiastic atmosphere as hundreds of laity along with religious and clergy were able to once again gather and celebrate the word of God in formation, worship and fellowship.
Even though as with any huge event there are always a bit of bumps along the way, the general feedback from both adults and youth that participated was one of enthusiasm and joy as we gathered as one Diocese.
I want to thank everyone that took the time to believe in this congress and decided to join us for this celebration. Even though most of the time I was running around the event taking care of logistics, tech support, environment, or supporting my volunteers, I was extremely happy to see many faces that I had not seen in a while along with new faces to the congress that had attended for the first time.
A special thank you to my volunteers, chairpersons, and area captains of which without you my job would have been a lot more difficult to accomplish, a gracious thank you to my right-hand man Agustin Chavez from St. Joseph Church in Bakersfield who has been working alongside me since 2017. A generous thank you as well for additional support from volunteers from the apostolic groups Ministerio Caleb and United Ministries from St. Rita’s in Tulare. Your support and accompaniment were greatly appreciated.

Transforming Relationships and Lives
Caring for the Whole Person
Kaweah Health Hospice Foundation invites you to engage with a fantastic speaker and one of the best national voices on palliative and hospice care THIS WEEK on the evening of Oct. 25th, in Visalia.
Dr. Ira Byock will speak with the community on issues which dovetail nicely with Caring for the Whole Person. Through stories drawn from years of working with critically ill persons and their families, as well as from his own personal life, Dr. Byock’s message that emotional and relational health are just as important as our physical health will challenge and deepen your appreciation for open and honest communication between persons, families, and health care providers.
The lecture, at the Visalia Wyndham hotel, 6:30-7:30pm, is free to the public and will include live translation in Spanish and book signing by the author.
