New Vicar for Women Religious

Bishop Brennan is pleased to announce the appointment of Sr. Virginia Lopez, MCSTNJ, as the new Vicar for Women Religious for the Diocese of Fresno.

The Office of the Vicar for Women Religious exists to assist women religious with all matters directly related to their ministry in the Diocese. The office serves as a resource for all consecrated women religious, including members of religious institutes, secular institutes, associations of the faithful, and diverse forms of consecrated life.

In addition to her new role, she will continue her service and ministry as Director of Religious Education and Director of Hispanic Ministries at Holy Family Church in Kingsburg.

Congratulations, Sr. Virginia!

Confirmation season is here! Bishop Brennan celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Joachim's Church in Madera last month.

God's Green Garden Benefits Those in Need

St. Aloysius School, Tulare

St. Aloysius School in Tulare recently held a Farmer’s Market!

The Farmer’s Market featured freshly grown produce and hand-crafted items from the school's God's Green Garden, located in the middle of campus. Students, teachers and parents worked together to harvest a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

The garden, established in 2009, is a symbol of God's creation emphasizing the abundant blessings that come from working together to serve others, as a faith-filled school community.

The money raised from the market was donated to Catholic Charities USA, to aid families who have been impacted by the wildfires in Los Angeles.

In anticipation of the Jubilee of the Sick and Health Care Workers in April, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have provided a resource packet.

The Jubilee of the Sick and Health Care Workers calls to celebrate the important service of healthcare providers and to recognize that accompanying the sick is an important vocation.

While each of us are called to continue Jesus's mission of love and healing in our own way, we recognize that the unique vocation of health care workers during this Jubilee Year of Hope.
