"No single decision you ever made has led in a straight line to where you find yourself now. You peeked down some roads and took a few steps before turning back. You followed some roads that came to a dead end and others that got lost at too many intersections. Ultimately, all roads are connected to all other roads. So break out of the mindset that your life consists of good and bad choices that set your destiny on a unswerving course. Your life is the product of your awareness. Every choice follows from that, and so does every step of growth."
~Deepak Chopra - The Book of Secrets
While I spent a decent amount of time looking inward over the past month, I couldn't gather the strength to continue to write my weekly blurbs in the studio e-newsletters. I'm back, but truth be told, I may not be as frequent or consistent as I have in the past. All things shift, change, morph, and transform.... and I'm finding that my writing, just like all of life, is doing just that.
Fall is a great time to bring our awareness to the movements and shifts we may need to make. What are some of the things in your life that need to change!? What can you let go of (even temporarily) to be able to pick up something else or let something else in? Can your yoga practice help you with this process? YES! We've planned some pretty terrific special events and workshops this month to help you look at your practice and yourself in new ways.
Alicia Fronczek's Yoga Nidra series starts this Saturday, October 3rd from 7-8:45 p.m. It's a 3-week series, but each session can also be attended individually. If you are in need of slowing down and exploring deeper meditative states - and really, who isn't!? - this is the event for you!
The following weekend, October 10th, Lisa Tannenbaum will be teaching a Chair Yoga Workshop. This isn't your "grandma's chair yoga" though! Lisa spent the summer exploring the myriad ways that a yoga chair prop can enhance as well as deepen anyone's yoga practice and she's ready to share this experience with all of us!
Finally, on Sunday, October 11th, Max Novelli will be treating us to his final installment in his YOGA + FOOD Elements Series. In line with the season, this final class will be focused on air, wind, and aspects of lightness exploring various inversions and arm balances. And, of course, like the rest of the Series, all participants will get to experience Max's delicious culinary accomplishments too!
Here's to being on the road... knowing that it will connect to another.... and appreciating the journey and growth along the way!
Namaste,
Kristi
