Childhood experiences, both positive and negative, have lifelong impacts and influence health and well-being later in life. Come and learn about the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACEs) that started the movement toward understanding the link between what happens early in life and later outcomes.

Includes: 1) specific strategies for building relationships with children, families, and colleagues; 2) strategies to promote children’s social-emotional skills and positive behaviors; and 3) responsive routines and environments to support children’s social-emotional development.

The Colorado Department of Human Services and the Office of Early Childhood are excited to announce Relationship-Based Professional Development (RBPD) Training for Winter 2020! This four-day training is FREE and offered in Colorado Springs! RBPD is a four day face-to-face training focused on coaching skills and working with adult learners in a coaching relationship. This training meets the requirement for the Colorado Coaching Credential.

RMECC Registration is OPEN!
The 2020 conference will have over 150 sessions in 11 different tracks, 2,000 attendees, 200 speakers, and unlimited networking opportunities. There is something for everyone! New this year, we are offering Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in 11 of our deeper dive sessions.
You must hold a current MOU with AFK to apply for CSQI funds.

Important! If you or your staff plan to request Quality Improvement funds for attending the Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Conference on March 13-14, 2020, be sure to submit requests as soon as possible. QI requests will require final approval before discount codes for registration can be provided to you. The approval process takes time and codes are generated manually, therefore RMECC specific information will be removed from eConnect a week prior to the conference registration closing date.
Beginning early 2020, Standard Precautions, Including Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases and Immunizations , will be available as a free, online PDIS course. A Spanish version of the course will be available in the Spring of 2020.

The Office of Early Childhood is now offering an online Spanish Version of Preventing Abusive Head Trauma. This course - Prevención del traumatismo craneoencefálico por maltrato o síndrome del bebé/niño sacudido - is available for free from the Colorado Shines PDIS.   This is a one-hour, Pre-Service and Orientation course.

Dual Diagnosis: Developmental Disability and Mental Health
This Project ECHO series is for mental health clinicians who work with children, youth, and adults with dual diagnoses of both intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
The six-session series offers participants learning and case consultation on working with children, youth, and adults with dual diagnoses of both intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
