Professional Development & Learning (PDL)

CUNY’s Office of Professional Development & Learning (PDL) has released their fall course catalogue. Read below for more information on courses and how to register. CUNY SPH employees must obtain supervisor approval, and if a course has a fee, supervisors must obtain approval from Theresa Matis in the Finance Office before an employee submits a registration request.

Fall 2025 PDL Course Offerings
|
- Includes: Live courses held at CUNY Central (395 Hudson Street) in communication styles, leadership, emotional intelligence, and more. A complete list of course offerings and dates can be found in the Fall 2025 Catalog here.
- Cost: $160 per session
- Seats: Limited to 25 per session
|
- Confirm all details with direct supervisor including work schedule, coverage, and cost. Supervisor obtains approval from Finance Office.
- Complete the Fall 2025 Registration Form

Refocus & Lead: A Manager Refresh (Free)
|
- Audience: CUNY managers (2–6 years experience)
- Includes: Access to curated online modules, 3 live CUNY-led sessions, and a succession planning activity.
- Program Dates: October 1st – January 30th

New Supervisors Program (Free)
|
- Audience: New supervisors (0-2 years experience)
- Includes: Access to curated online modules and 3 live CUNY-led sessions
- Program Dates: October 13th – March 13th

NYC Commission on Human Rights Virtual Workshops (Free)

- Audience: All CUNY Employees
- Topics Covered: Age Discrimination in Employment, Working with Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Persons, Understanding Muslim Experience & Combating Anti-Muslim Bias, Understanding Jewish Experience & Anti-Semitism, Bystander Intervention, and Anti-Black Racism & Other Forms of Discrimination Based on Race and Color

Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS)

As a CUNY employee you are eligible for a Tuition Waiver. Once you satisfy the service requirements specified by your position (see tuition waiver page for details), you are eligible to waive the cost of tuition at any CUNY school, up to a maximum of $5250.00 tax-free, per year.
