There are two upcoming professional development opportunities available to NLTA members this summer. Please see the below details for more information.

Developing Successful Schools (DSS) – Mentoring for Mentors

July 7-9, 2026 Mount Allison University, Sackville, NB


The Developing Successful Schools (DSS) Institute is an instructional leadership institute for school and district administrators, teachers, and other educators across Atlantic Canada.


The NLTA will sponsor up to 10 delegates, with preference given to first-time applicants. Eligible costs include registration, accommodations, travel, and meals. To maximize funding levels, applicants are encouraged to also apply to the NLTA Professional Development Fund.

CONTACT 2026 – The Intentional Educator Conference

Cultivating Wellness, Balance, and Purpose in Our Practice

August 4-7, 2026 Old Orchard Inn, Greenwich, NS


CONTACT 2026 will feature plenary sessions, keynotes, and a variety of concurrent sessions led by educators from across Atlantic Canada.


Priority will be given to teachers who have not previously attended. 

The NLTA will cover onsite costs (registration, accommodations, and meals), and a travel subsidy will be provided (80–100% for NLTA members). A non-refundable $25 deposit is required for selected delegates.


Application deadline: April 27, 2026 
Late applications will not be considered. Space is limited.
