Many of our holiday traditions center around food: the Thanksgiving turkey, grandma's special potato salad, cookies made with a whole pound of butter that only make an appearance once a year. But as someone who ends up doing a lot of the holiday cooking, I must say-- I'd love a break now and then! Solution: an all-inclusive resort in Cancun, or Playa Del Carmen, or the Dominican Republic. The kids can build sand castles, my sisters and I can enjoy the pool bar, the husbands can talk sports or politics, and Nana can get her toes done at the onsite spa. And no dishes! Win!

The holiday season is also a great time to consider a cruise; many of the cruise lines offer great fares and even added incentives for holiday cruises, and the already luxurious ships are decked out in their holiday finest. See below for some holiday cruise ideas.
The Caribbean was hit hard by Irma and Maria, and many of the residents there have lost their homes and livelihood. Frankly, one way to help them is to visit, and spend your tourist dollars. I found a great website,
