Hello clients and friends!

Suddenly I find myself at the end of January and the big question I am asking myself is: am I enjoying the season? Have I had enough SNOW?!?
Winter can often be the time where we find ourselves thinking of sandy beaches, warm water and sunshine. Yet if you enjoy snow sports, or simply love a snowy landscape, you should know you still have a few months to revel in a winter wonderland. Maybe it is time to explore in a new way, or a new place!

I mean, honestly, the older I get the more I appreciate my Dad's opinion of snow: leave it in the mountains where I don't have to shovel it! (Dad grew up in Minnesota, and much appreciated our Pacific Northwest rainy winter weather over shoveling snow, or, god forbid, driving in it!)

View of Whistler Mountain as seen from the top of the Seventh Heaven chair on Blackcomb Mountain.
Driving TO the snow, however, is another story...did you know that we have several fabulous winter destinations within a few hours drive of Seattle? And the first one that comes to mind:

Whistler!
Looking down at the Tube Park (left side) and the Blackcomb Base. The Fairmont is the castle-like building, middle right.
Oh my, lets talk about Whistler! Not one but TWO mountains, with over 8,100 acres of skiable terrain, the largest resort in North America. They have received over 23 FEET of snow so far this season!

One of the reasons I love Whistler is that once I drive there, I can park the car and leave it for the duration of my stay. You can walk to the lifts, walk to dinner, shop, explore, and take the free shuttle bus if you want to get a little farther afield.

If you are not a skiier or snowboarder, you can try snowshoeing, dog sledding, snow mobiling, tubing, or visit one of the many boutique spas and shops in the area.

Fine cuisine? Got it! Kid-friendly food? Yes, indeed! Nightlife? Of course!

And if you love to travel with your dog, the village is very dog-friendly. Our pups always loved a romp in the snow with us.

There is daily train service if you don't want to make the drive. And if you are flying into Vancouver, there is the option of private transfer to take you directly to your lodging.

But the only way to fly into the village in the winter is by special charter. In the summer, there is regular service by floatplane out of Vancouver harbour.

Whistler offers all sorts of accommodations, from ski-in/ski-out condos to five star resorts to 4-bedroom resort homes to an amazingly comfortable youth hostel. Let us know your preferences and we'll find you the right place.
To continue the winter vacation theme, there are links to several other snowy destinations for you to consider. As usual, these are just a starting point--please contact us for other ideas!

Thank you for reading to the end of our newsletter, we do appreciate it. We look forward to working with you this year. Please call us at 425-827-5656, we'd love to hear from you. Or simply reply to this email.
