Message from President Bonnie Chapman
Greetings Soroptimists!
What did the pirate say when he turned 80?
Aye Matey!
I'm looking forward to hearing again from Becky Robinson, Executive Director of our local Alzheimer's Association this week during our club meeting. Becky will be teaching all of us more about the disease and will talk about research and exciting work being done on prevention and curative solutions. It will be informative and important.
Speaking of programs, our schedule is quickly filling up. If you have a great program idea under your hat, make sure to pass it along to myself or Roseann Bradley. We have some really great things on the slate already and want to complete the list with a few more.
Make sure to bring your checkbook and plan to buy your tickets to Dueling Pianos for November 3, especially if you want to reserve a table for yourself and friends. Reserved tables are first come, first served! Tickets are $75.00 for open seating and $80.00 for reserved seating (for members only). It will be an evening of great food, fun and friendship.
Eleven members of SI Chico attended our District 1 meeting in Redding on Saturday! We had a good time, learned a lot and came home weighed down in awards. I will let the District Directors share all the good news at the Business Meeting in October.
It's another great week to be a Soroptimist.

President, 2018-2019

We are no longer using Signup Genius. We are now using SignUp.com. It is easier for people to sign up and has a better look. As the sign up dates past you no longer see them, so you aren't scrolling down through past dates to sign up for future dates.

SI Chico!
Below is the link to our team page. You can join the team here by pressing the Join Team button. Jody said that you should go ahead and join the team whether you plan to walk or volunteer. You can also simply donate to our team if you like on the same page. I hope many of you feel moved to join me on October 13 and that will also join in on helping to raise funds for our SI Chico team.
Thanks everyone!

Hands on Service Projects - Process Updated!
All proposed Hands on Service Projects will need to be sponsored by a club member and brought forth to the Business Meeting for membership approval. So that members have sufficient information to make a decision, sponsoring club members will complete a Nomination Form (attached). This form will be included with the motion form and shared on Eblast prior to the Business Meeting.
Hands on Service Projects that the club has participated in the past will NOT automatically roll over and will also need to be approved by the membership.
We know that many of you are involved with other nonprofits that do good work throughout the community. If you feel that our club members can help your nonprofit in some "hands on", please let us know. We welcome fresh ideas! First nominations are due by
September 24
for consideration.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of the Giving Committee Co-Chairs.
Marge Rivas, Miles Berdache Lynk, Kim N. Huber
