President Lindsey Lenhart called the meeting to order. Attendance total: 24, members-22, other Kiwanis members-2, Bob Kemper/NC, Dellanique Merigelli, Lt. Gov Key Club Div 19B and speaker today.   The 50/50 was won by Dellanique. 

  • Delicious Dining Book fundraiser is underway, pre-sales orders can be placed now.
  • March of Dimes is a program that aligns with our Kiwanis mission. It's a program supported by Kiwanis International and in many cities such as Fort Myers. Rachel's family is the Lee County March of Dimes Ambassador Family for 2020. 
         Rachel shared in a recent email; "For those of you who don't know, both my kids were               preemies. Adam was 29 weeks weighing in at 2 pounds, 9 ounces. Sadie was 33 weeks             weighing in at 4 pounds, 4 ounces. We received no answers for why our babies were                 born early. This year our fighters are helping the March of Dimes raise funds for                         research, so more families don't have to go through what we went through. We had good           outcomes, but many do not."

        Here is how we can support March of Dimes this year:

Oasis Reading/Mentoring (Stewart Ross) weekly  at Orangewood  Elementary on Wednesdays  9:30am-10:10am. Please let Stewart know if you can help. Four volunteers are needed each week. 

MS Support Group(Bill Grant), meets 3rd Thursday of each month at St. Hilary Episcopal Church. 

Literacy Buddy  "Buddies" still welcome. You will be paired with a child (age 3-5). You will get a letter from your child and a few notes from his/her teacher describing the type of book they would like to have. You purchase the book and it goes to your child.   Start by signing up:     In the section where it says preferred school write in Metro-McGregor Kiwanis Club. Last book is due to the children April 17th.

Aktion Club -(Karen Hurst) at LARC. Meets 2nd Tuesday at 8:30am, year-round. Bring in clean/used T-shirts for Karen to take as they are making more dog toys. 

CKI Club- at FGCU. (Stewart Ross)  CKI Mentorship-

Key Club-(Harris Segel) Collegiate High on FSW campus. 

Builder's Club-(Barbara Hartman, Todd Adams, Ada Trapanese) Cypress Lake Middle. Barbara reported the students are doing Bunny Gram fundraiser, Puppy Love in February for Gulf Coast Humane Society (bring donations in for dogs and cats and give to Barbara for the club), collecting belts for their clothes closet, in March their project is autism awareness.  

K-Kids-(Kim Berghs) Littleton Elementary. Meetings on specific Wednesdays at 2:15pm. 
                             Today's Program: Division 19B Key Club

Our speaker today was Della Merigelli, 2019-2020 Key Club Lt. Governor for 10 local clubs in our area.  Cypress Lake High started a new club this year and a club on Babcock Ranch is new. On February 15th the division is holding a division-side project at FSW, 1:30pm in Building U.  Riverdale club will be doing Trunk or Treat in the fall. 

Della will be running again for Lt. Gov. again next fall. Thank you for your leadership!

                                          New member induction today

Stewart Ross conducted a ceremony today inducting our newest members.  We have  41  members in our club (a combination of individual and corporate memberships), our club is  ranked  8  out of  238  in our district (which is Florida) for net growth  (net gain of 8 members).
