- On March 17th we won't be able to use our regular meeting location. We'll be at Pine Manor Community Center and have a modified meeting, box lunch and tour of the facility. Address is: 5547 Tenth Ave., Fort Myers 33907 We'll need to know who is attending on this day by March 10th and if you are going to each lunch.
- Bring in your old Kiwanis magazine to recycle in our member recruitment folders.
- Delicious Dining Book fundraiser is underway, pre-sales orders can be placed now.
Coupon books valid April 15-Nov 15th. This project supports programs such as Atlas Books and Sensory rooms. We are looking for places that will help us sell the books or put flyers up. 1,300 are being printed.
- DCM-Division Council Meeting: the next one is April 28th and our club will be hosting all clubs in our division. Governor Allen is attending. Location: the United Way building, 5:45pm. Would you like to help with the planning? See Lindsey.
Read Across America Day: Rayma C. Page has invited us to come visit kiddos and read a book to them on March 2nd.
This is a national event where local schools invite community members to read to kiddos. This event encourages young readers to love reading. It would be about an hour at our school. You pick your time frame between 9:15am-2:30pm. They will have the children's books available for you. Address: 17000 S. Tamiami Trail.
Please remember to bring your photo id for security check in. They will have a hospitality room with refreshments and student ambassadors in the library to greet you and escort you to classrooms.

MS Support Group-
meets 3rd Thursday of each month at St. Hilary Episcopal Church.
Last book is due to the children April 17th.
Ronald McDonald House Meal Prep-Cathy Smith will be leading this summer project again, one we have done for years. We'll be preparing meals for families staying in the house. Cathy will have sign up sheets as there is a limit on how many can come each time. She has selected weekend dates this year to accommodate those that are working M-F. Annual Egg Hunt at Wa-ke-hatchee: Saturday April 11th. The event is 10:00am-12:00pm, volunteers report at 9:00am. We are in need to 12-14 volunteers. Sign up sheet will be going around and emailed to all members.
Diaper Drive: Cathy Smith has organized a collection for Eva's Closet, an agency that spoke to our club last fall. Sizes needed 4-5-6. Harris is willing to place a bulk order if you would like to contribute.
SLP's (Service Leadership Programs)
-(Karen Hurst) at LARC. Meets 2nd Tuesday at 8:30am, year-round. Bring in clean/used T-shirts for Karen to take as they are making more dog toys.

Don't forget to bring in new dog/cat supplies/food to support the club by Tuesday Feb 25th. Barbara said give her a call and she will pick it up and take it to the school if needed.

Today's Program: Crime Prevention
Our speaker today was Kim Swanson, Crime Prevention Practitioner from the Lee County Sheriff Department. Today she talked to us about the 4 P's of active violence & response.
The first is Prepare a Plan; where are the exits, think about where you park, are there workplace policies where you work or volunteer. The second is Plan your Plan, have a back up in mind it plan A fails. The third is Practice the Plan and fourth is be prepared to Protect yourself.
She also informed us of a collaborative project between the Sheriff's Department and United Way called Reunite. It is designed to help find those that wander or have others that have special needs and could go missing.

March of Dimes is a program that aligns with our Kiwanis mission and also supported by Kiwanis International. Rachel and Matt's family is the Lee County March of Dimes Ambassador Family for 2020.
